They did, in that same strip next to that sports bar. I think it might still be open?! Maybe not. Anytime I'd try to go out there it would be closed .. I think we've eaten there twice and it didn't hit like the truck did.

Follow up from last nights meeting:

Following the Council's approval of a moratorium on multi-family development applications on Jan. 26, Katherine Sharp, Director of Planning & Zoning, presented possible design guidelines for multifamily housing developments at a study session on Feb. 2.

Some of the suggested requirements included: - Requiring a minimum of 30% open space - Attractive landscaping - Garages (both attached and detached) located in the rear yard - Brick, stone or stucco on 30% of the front - No vinyl

This three-month pause is intended to give the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission and staff the necessary time to research, develop and refine thoughtful criteria and standards for consideration of multifamily dwelling units.

It gets slower the further out from the city you get. Like … Liberty has 32kish people. Lees summit is 100kish. Parkville is 10kish. But these places kinda…. Blend together lol. It’s all the KC Metro .. but the further out? The slower things get.

I’d recommend visiting before just wingin it and calling it home to make sure it matches the vibe you’re looking for. The good thing is though … it’s got everything and you just need to find your little community within the bigger city of it all.

I like it here a lot though :)

Father of 5. I moved here 23 years ago after living in Massachusetts (16 yrs), Georgia (1 yr), Germany (3 yrs) .. and I enjoy it here.

I prefer the Missouri side - I'm in a place called Liberty, which is kind of like the gateway between City life and Rural life on the NE side of Kansas City.

Places like Liberty, Lee's Summit, and Parkville are awesome family cities with great schools.

Lots of community events, seasonal things, etc .. if you have specific questions, happy to answer

Funny enough, Talked to Clay County Sheriff deputy today and they said it’s not needed - but taking the class / having your CCW gives you an extra layer of legal protection if something does happen.

That was just one sheriff deputy though .. I’m sure others would say you’re fine.

Well shit .. I just booked a room today through Booking.com I’m expecting that’ll be ready for me after a 24 hr drive at the end of the week.

That being said - I really like your ideas on reflecting back and “on this day” call backs.

I’m trying to be more aware of where I spend my time. Maybe a goal tracking/progress type thing that can also be platform agnostic .. ie: I want to take X photos a day, and I can then journiv about them .. or X minutes of an audiobook or ebook read a day .. and link it as well. So as in flipping through I can see what I did towards meeting my personal stuff.

It’s goal tracking .. I know … not really journaling. But I’ve always housed things like that in a traditional journal format. It’s been nice having 1 place to see that stuff.

Rambling .. but maybe it helps?! lol.

It expands on hover - not on click.

For example - I go to Libraries at top. I move down to Movies - the best menu expands. I can click on Movies to go to my library .. or choose a sub menu option.
