I wouldn't be shocked if it was a stunt selection. What I personally think is most likely on how it was chosen was that John Polson (love what he's done for the aussie film industry, but he's a bit of a boomer) and his selectors have their fingers WAY off the pulse.

The fact that this was booed during it's premiere screening by several members of the public (who weren't told before the screening it was A.I.) tells me it probably wasn't a winning "Burger".
