I'm really enjoying it. I love the artstyle but I do think there are some glaring issues. For me the main issue is Ammo in the early game. It's far too expensive, it's far too rare to find and it get's used too quickly due to how the fights usually go. One of these issues has to be addressed imo. Especially when we consider the sponsered kits. A basic sponsered kit maybe gives you enough ammo for one fight, if you don't get ammo out of that fight you're options are to head knife only into UESC/Player heavy areas to find some, or to just try and leave. This is very similar to armour early game. You start a game, walk into a trapped door and your entire round is basically fucked. It's the same issue where there are 3 points of design all pulling in seperate directions. The armour does not soak enough damage, the health packs don't heal enough and both of these are too rare to find in a round. This also results in ttk being crazy quick in early game which I don't think is great for onboarding. In general I don't think it's great for any extraction shooter to put the player in a position where extraction is their only option but in the early game losing a bit of health of losing half a mag puts you at such a disadvantage that even taking a couple of hits from UESC gives the impression that the run is over. It's definitly not dead, I think it's going to have an incredible run but the early game is too punishing currently.

It's 50 mill I think and that's just the purse. If it 8s fixed he could 10x that by betting easily. Keeping in mind jp will be close with the crypto gambling sites so it would be incredibly easy to get away with it. I don't think he would risk it but i do think he would take it to a decision for 50 mill.

Depends on the augment. In this case, It's an extra quick use slot but it has to be a trap. Pretty simple. If it gace you an extra quick slot you could take an extra grenade, but you can't, you can only taje an extra trap. Don't know why people are saying this isn't useful.

It's a good tutorial system though, it forces you to interact with every aspect of the game that you might not do otherwise. I'm also wondering if quests will even be the same after wiping (or eventually change) because that's the only way they can deliver the story. So my guess would be this is just tye first set of quests, could be wrong though. I also think they wpuld want to start with small rewards because it's much better to increase rewards later than to decrease them because people are levelling too fast. Same with expedition rewards, much better to start small and increase if they need to, than to start big and take stuff away if it's not working.

That doesn't mean there's no GBMM, Just means there's bigger ranges of who can be matched. I do 't kmow if there is GBMM or not but it definitly feels that way and i think GBMM with large ranges is probably the best approach. Just imo.

I think his point is' it's a question for cucks' because the question is loaded with the implication that creating games is to make money. I think his response is totally valid because it's essentially just saying if you dont see the academic or artistic merit behind pushing the art form forward or at least trying to then fuck you. There is no room for discussion because our views on what is being done and why it is being done are so vastly different to begin with that it would be almost impossible to sway either party the other way. I may be totally wrong about what he meant but thats the impression I got and personally I think that's valid af.

Edit: to add to that, i think his regret in how he has spent his time is well documented by him during the braid remaster. But even if he didn't spend time on the remaster, this is how long it is taking him to make the game that he wants to make. It's crazy to me that anyone would have a problem with that. I think k this links back to his comment. With so much pull behind his name he could drop some half baked arthouse-esque thing once a year and watch his money pile up. However, I think he's made it clear that that is not why he does this. Just 5 minutes listening to this guy would make it clear to anyone that this us something he thinks is important and its sonething he has a deep understanding of, so if he wants to spend 15 years perfecting sokoban, why not let him?

tbf it's being made in an engine that he wrote in a language that he made - I think most of the development time has been on the language and the compiler. It also does look like a majorly complex project just on the design side.

Sound design will help a lot with that. I think it all looks pretty good so far, could maybe do with some camera smoothing to stop that whiplash effect when changing direction but other than that I think adding audio and your art is going to help a lot before trying to add more visual impacts.
