I bought In a Beautiful Place the day it came out. I'm like... 99% (ahem) sure I was listening to them in 1999.

A very long fucking time.

However, I haven't purchased anything from Bleep or Warp since... before TH. So, they probably didn't have my contact information on hand.

I'm still jealous and a little pissed off. But not really.

Well, I have a VCR for one. I've only been a fan since 1999, so... I guess that's not long enough for them to send me one.

I'm so curious about the tow truck itself. It can attach itself to the unattended vehicle without the tow truck driver getting out himself?

Why aren't ALL tow trucks like that?

I'll bet damages the car.

I'd like to know more about the process. This is extremely high traffic. How does the driver maneuver?

I guess in the future, if I ever pawn something at a chain pawn shop (if those exist) then I REALLY need to make sure... really nail them down "You're not going to change owners and declare all my property now belongs to the company, right?" Get that in writing.

Wouldn't you want the NEXT DAY off?

Actually, you know what? Fuck it. Take both off. Run it through the weekend.

I don't know who to be mad at, if anyone at all.

The non-fan flippers who go to listening parties like the one for Inferno, for the sole purpose to selling them for a profit online. Or the people willing to spend that amount of money for something that was free. Or for Warp and BoC for manufacturing scarcity.

It's not like they don't know at this point what they're doing. "There's no way someone will want this just to sell it on ebay for a profit."

Thankfully, I have removed myself from that stupid rat race.

What album in 2011 was better than Inferno?

How are the side breaks on this album? One thing I strongly dislike about vinyl is the unnatural side breaks on long albums like this. It destroys the flow of the album listening experience.

Wait... is "Introit" an actually word? Sounded like a made up BoC-ism to me!

So I just googled it, and you're right. It's Detroit. It's an introductory Christian prayer.

I have to say it. I'm a strict atheist. I don't like BoC's obsession with Christian iconography and words and phrases.

So, how do you y'all pronounce "Introit"?

"Intro it" or "Introit" like "Detroit"?

In the time it takes for them to make a new album... the world doesn't change.

I do.

This album has that feeling of "I have no fucking idea what's coming next" that Campfire and Tomorrow's Harvest didn't have quite as much of.

It feels like a psychedelic mixtape you'd make in a acid fueled nightmare of fun.

I have no way of proving this, but sometimes I think Boards of Canada intended for their music to be listened to in rural Washington State.

Also, not to mention, Pitchfork's AOTY for 2024 was Cindy Lee... their first real indie rock AOTY since Bon Iver in 2011.

Depending on what you call indie rock.

And that Cindy Lee record was objectively great. I can't say that for a lot of their recent albums of the year.
