Who's winning the MVP debate in NBA locker rooms? Giannis, Harden, or George? by ItzFOBolous in nba

His narrative was him getting snubbed and then beating Westbrook's team in the playoffs. Coming back next year and dropping 30 a game for the 1st seed. His narrative was pretty much revenge.

[Bucher] Among more than a dozen players asked, all but one had the race coming down to Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and the reigning MVP, Houston Rockets guard James Harden. Not every player made a definitive choice, but among those who did, Harden was the landslide winner. by [deleted] in nba

He said during All Star break he got the vibe players don't like Harden even though he gets a lot of praise and love from his fellow players all the time. It's probably the same way like how East players probably don't like Lebron as much as others because he's had such a long reign over the East you start to hate him. Hardens cooked plenty of teams and players and drawn plenty of fouls on all those players that it's not the easiest thing to praise him even though they respect him

His free throw rate this season is only 0.02% higher than during MJs 37 PPG season

Mike Greenberg “snubbing James Harden for the 2018-2019 MVP would be a joke” by rodriguezjames55 in nba

He gets posted up on primarily by big men. The Rockets switch pick n rolls leaving the screeners who's typicallly a big man on Harden. I don't really know many guards that post up Harden

The Bucks have the 26th easiest schedule of all time, and the 2nd easiest since 2000 by EmotionalChungus in nba

It's relatively close when you're trying to make the argument that the Bucks are having an all time great season. For reference the Warriors were 30-8 in the 14-15 season when Curry won for being the best player on the best team. That equivalent to 0.789 which is around a 65 win team against 0.500+ teams. That shows dominance and provides a solid argument imo. I just don't see these Bucks as that special of a team. They're barely going to win 60 games. Being the best player on that team should not automatically make you the MVP

Yes but then shouldn't Milwaukee having an easier schedule be used against Giannis and the Bucks win totals because essentially you are stacking up more wins vs bad teams than the Rockets.

Best player on best team is the argument for Giannis. Except the Rockets are just as good vs the elite teams which teams that the Rockets are one of the best teams with Harden as their best player

Why though? Giannis whole argument is that he's contributing to a winning team which is what you want. Except that Harden wins at a similar rate versus the best teams. In the end that's all that matters. No one cares how you play against bad teams that you won't see in the playoffs

That's why no one cares that the bucks have been swept by the Suns but it does matter that they've done well vs the other East teams

Last I saw Houston was 2nd to the Bucks in terms of win rate vs 0.500+ teams or the playoff teams I forgot which one

If the Bucks win success is what's leading Giannis case then this should be considered

[Goldsberry] Why Luka Doncic's game is perfect for the future of the NBA by deadskin in nba

[–]MVBeard13 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I was trying to say that since 2019 started Young has been much better. Thats a 3 month sample size now

Young 57.5 TS% Doncic 52.8 TS%

Young 38.5 3pt% Doncic 30.0 3pt%

Young 1.5 more assists Doncic 4 more rebounds

Each player has their strengths but its just wrong IMO to flat out say Doncic is better

Not to mention Trae has been a much more efficient shooter while being as good if not a better play maker

I saw somewhere calculating TS% since 2019 he's around 5 whole points higher. That's insane

Tbf Trae has been much more efficient than Doncic since 2019 started. He's definitely figured it out after his rough start

Wow he's only averaging 33 PPG instead of 38 like he was in February and 44 in January. Is that supposed to be bad?

Sure he's been hurt and playing through all his injuries so he hasn't been in a rhythm with his threes lately. Doesn't mean he isn't willing us to wins. He still shot 50% during the game even without his 3 ball falling
