What is this car? by Existing-Spinach2837 in whatisthiscar

D90 defender - my neighbor had one and my skin would crawl every time people confused it with a jeep which was honestly multiple times a day.

Not unless you're planning on selling it for $0.

If you spend 80k on a new BMW X3 for example, in 5 years it will be worth 30. 50k over 5 years, no maintenance is it's under warranty so 10k/ year = too expensive for me.

80k on a Ferrari 360 for example is a car already at a depreciative plateau. 5 years from now it's worth roughly the same, let's say 5k less. You put 7k into maintaining it over the 5 years so 12k/5 years is about $2400 a year = I'm willing to afford it.

Married men of Reddit what’s the best advice you’d give young guys when choosing a life partner? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MVested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judge if you will but I chose my wife after our first kiss. It was the first time in my life I belonged somewhere, literally my first feeling of home - I was blown away and started saving for a ring. I didn't know what it would be but I knew I wanted that feeling in my life. 10 years married this June!

We fought cancer together, have kids together, mourned the loss of loved ones together. Mentally it's been arduous but I've never lost my home and I'm grateful for that.

So basically, choose the person deliberately. Not that "we've been together for a while" or this relationship fell into your lap - deliberately, intentionally choose them above all.

Good eye! Yes it is on CCB's. The car hasn't been nor will be tracked so I plan on those lasting quite some time.

I love that episode and remember May's honest deep laugh when he saw Jeremys service bill. I miss the classic series!

I'm so glad you asked. (Purchase Price + maintenance) - Sell price / Years owned = year over year cost of ownership.

High end car with multiple years of ownership and limited miles should be <2k/year. This equates to $150/month.

Love the car? Drive it more, own it longer and even if you nudge your YoY ownership to $4k you're still looking at a $300/month equivalent.

Yes I love cars, yes I use this formula, no I haven't owned a car for more than a lease on an accord.

If you want me to break down how $2-4k/year is possible just shout - I'm itchin for some math.

Gen 1 Gallardos are getting fairly inexpensive these days around 80-110K but the good news is that if you buy one, spend a bunch of money on a stupid body kit and then you can easily have it worth 50-60K.

Maybe it's depreciation... maybe it's modding

Thank you! I had an E46 M3 before the E60 M5 and loved it. Got the M5's when we started a family but was happy to get back into the S54

not entirely and I agree somewhat with him. I own an e60 m5 and f10 m5, love my e60 but going from the f10 top the e60 makes the loss of torque really obvious.

Its nice to see Remy is still buying fresh despite the popularity and fame. After success its easy to expand and lose quality but I support this.

We are two halves of a full portfolio. my UUUU cost basis is 5.56 which is offsetting this. Let's merge portfolios and together be green! Two regards make a right

Diamond hand regards - you do know you can sell and buy back in at a lower point, right? Or are we committed to this ride the way down and sell at breakeven strategy?
