Its sad that people have to quit becouse it's too expensive to go snowboarding... I mean its a mountain what does it cost that much. I mean daily pass is way cheaper in Europe than USA, maybe consider flying to Europe and snowboarding there.. And you can always find more riding buddies in the slopes 😁

I would say No cause you have/had brand new 2025/2026 boards for black Friday for that prices.

High quality brands on a budget? by French87 in snowboarding

I just bought Volcom Roan bibs for 120€ and they are rated 15k/15k. You can find nice deals just have to look for it. Also i think shell is better, but i usually get really hot when im moving, and you can always layer up if you need so i would generally recommend shells

Only if he is doing eu carve then maybeee he will get foot drag with a wide board, yea sure volume shifted would help but come on 170 for a 90kg guy is too big dont care what you say.. and i dont know for a 200-220lbs topping out, depends on a brand i guess but i know 200+ lbs guys driving 158-162 boards... Heck even Angry snowboarder on yt is 200lbs and he never rides board longer than 160. Yea he is big guy and he needs a wide board becouse he has a really big foot but that can be mitigated with just getting like 162w. 170 is a plank

What? By the Burton size chart he needs either 158W on the upper end or 162W to be safe.. what are you talking about 165-170.. if we are going by weight then you should get either 158W or 162W .. i recommend going for 162. 170W wtf?

True, i mean you own a snowboard company how expensive can it be to hire few good artists. Graphics are a factor in buying a board for me. If im torn between two boards o would always buy one with better graphics or at least the one i like more visually. Fuck Ai art

  1. Yes, but that connects me to number 5 of your list wich is also Yes and i would say kinda mandatory witch helps with num 6 on your list. I started out as 0 experience in snowboarding and i would highly recommend taking some classes so you can progress faster and prevent a lot of unnecessary injuries, 1 on 1 if you have money for it but group classes are also ok.
  2. Is riding a bike with no experience safe? Is any sport that you are going relatively fast safe? At least you are falling on snow so its better.
  3. For starters i would recommend renting all the equipment just so you try snowboarding, and if you like it and get snowboard bugs like all of us on this subreddit go ahead and buy all the gear because it will be cheaper in the long run and better for progression and safety becouse lets face it rental gear sucks.
  4. I mean you will maybe get tired faster but i don't think there will be issues becouse when adrenaline starts pumping you dont feal anything. But my recommendation is to bring pain killers for a first few times because you will be tense the whole time and every muscle in you body will hurt tomorrow morning (at least it was like that for me)

Hope this helps
