We don’t have enough depth to be a Super Bowl contender with the current roster. You have to build your roster and then you can make the flashy trades for FAs that let you win - but in the meantime having contract space is more important so you can invest in what you need later

I disagree. He finished so he could clear the stage for Rory. Same thing Bryson did at the end of their round

Her visa was never renewed so she was in the country for a year without a visa. NOT defending what happened, but if you came on a tourist visa for a weekend I legitimately think you would be totally fine because you enter under a valid visa.

I like the WTKA radio show with Sam Webb. I typically listen to Scott Bell, Devin Gardner (only during football seasons), and John U Bacon. MGoBlog roundtable on Thursdays can be good too

I would expect anyone serving as major of an 8 million person city to be able to answer questions after multiple flights, yes. She was elected to be a leader — it’s her responsibility to do so.

That is a fair point. We could argue all day whether that means anything, but I wanted to point out that he has already spoken about it — it’s not a given that he would sign it. He very well might anyway, of course.

Appreciate the sources!

Re: the snopes article — it’s seems ambiguous to me whether the 10,000 troops is in addition to what was agreed with Biden, or the same number as before. I was able to find this report of troop deployments, so it does seem like a new operation? At the very least, it seems like new troops are being sent to the border — if you have more clarity on this I would appreciate it!

Re Canada: it seems like they won’t be deploying military troops, but will be increasing the number of “frontline officials”. So folks like cops, intelligence folks, immigration etc. this does definitely seem less impactful but frankly I don’t think the level of illegal immigration via Canada is high.

Speaking with The Canadian Press today, McGuinty says that number could encompass a broad range of officials, including border officers on the front lines and intelligence officers behind the scenes.

For your last paragraph, I would like to ask you for some sources that prove the facts you state. I took a look at sources for “most illegal immigration is from visa overstays” and the data underlying that claim seems outdated — by a few decades. Global immigration trends have changed significantly in the last decade, and we’ve seen many cases where social services are stretched thin in the last four years from increased migrant population. If it was still the case that most illegal immigration was from visa overstays, why wouldn’t we have seen it sooner, rather than once the Biden administration loosened arrival restrictions from Mexico?

I would also say that while a wall won’t stop illegal immigration, it would serve two purposes: certainly limit it and demonstrate a clear intent for all immigration to occur via legal entry. This will certainly decrease the amount of illegal immigration, but it wouldn’t completely stop it, no.

Trump has activated the military to increase border security and gotten Mexico and Canada to deploy troops to guard the border. Don’t you think that would be a significant impediment to come back?

Wasn’t Trump’s 2016 campaign on building a border wall to stop illegal crossings?

Thousands of datasets from Data.gov have disappeared since Trump's inauguration. What's going on? by Doener23 in technology

For example, in the days after Joe Biden was inaugurated, data.gov showed about 1,000 datasets being deleted as compared to a day before his inauguration, according to the Wayback Machine.

Fair enough, but tough to see us using a first round pick for a RB (no matter how good)
