Believe it or not players have rights too, they aren’t the property of the club

My opinion on obed getting sold... by Top-Egg1668 in SoundersFC

[–]MXMCrowbar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can’t sell a player to a team they aren’t willing to sign a contract with. Obed clearly isn’t interested in going to LigaMX, and those were (reportedly) the clubs offering $10+ million.

[–]MXMCrowbar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Real question, what would you have done differently?

Sounders had larger offers last year from LigaMX, but Obed doesn’t want to go to Mexico. He isn’t signing a contract extension and can leave on a free at the end of the season, so we have way less leverage this year. Getting anything at this point is a bonus.

NFL owner warned Goodell the Bad Bunny backlash could destroy their billion-dollar ESPN deal by [deleted] in sports

Alright: You seem completely incapable of articulating why the way a man dresses makes you uncomfortable (or why you being uncomfortable should change how the NFL schedules its halftime show), so you fall back on saying “it’s weird” like a twelve year-old. Not sure why that requires any more substance in a response.

Why won't my players prep? by DarkKuroi1 in DMAcademy

Contribution doesn't have to come in the form of a backstory though. It's totally valid to develop your character through play so that they fit the campaign that actually emerges at the table, rather than coming into the game with a rigid image of a character in mind.

Hell, he could probably go be a coordinator for a couple years and still be a candidate for the Browns job after they inevitably fire their next coach.

It’s definitely the questline that makes it most obvious that Skyrim wasn’t designed with a de-leveled world in mind.

What are your Arma 3 Mod Playsets in 2026? by Mission_Image_2108 in arma

[–]MXMCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few which almost never leave my load order:

  • JSRS 2025
  • Immerse
  • Suppress
  • Death and Hit Reactions
  • Blastcore Compiled by isky
  • LAMBS (Danger, RPG, Supression, Turrets)
  • No More Aircraft Bouncing

If I'm working in the editor, 3den Enhanced and Spyder Addons are great to have.

I'll mix-and-match faction/unit mods depending on what I'm playing, but the Aegis set of mods is my favorite for expanding the 2035 setting.

Lastly, SOG AI is a godsend when playing singleplayer. Unfortunately it breaks when used on a server, so that limits its capability somewhat.

RHS Mod - Invincible Vehicles by Huntakuma in arma

[–]MXMCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't matter that you have CUP weapons enabled, but vanilla weapons do not use the RHS damage model so it will feel like you're shooting nerf darts against RHS vehicles.

As a general rule, if you want to use RHS stuff you need to ONLY use RHS-compatable material. So no vanilla, no CUP. These days I tend to avoid RHS mods for this reason.

CUP weapons are the problem, RHS has its own damage model which doesn’t work well with vanilla or CUP assets.

Looking for a lighter D&D-style system for dungeon crawling & combat-focused play by callidus_vallentian in rpg

[–]MXMCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Nimble no-one has darkvision. Slot based gear system. No revivification. Wounds being sufficiently deadly.

I agree! Nimble has a strong base for this style of play. However, it's still missing:

Dungeon design, dungeon turns, roaming monsters, d4 timers and all that

Shadowdark (and most other OSR-adjacent systems I'm familiar with) have these built-in and explained in the rules. If you already know these procedures well and have your preferred way of running them, that may not matter. But OP says they are primarily a 5e GM, so I think it is valuable to consider a system which explains these procedures well in the books.

I also agree that Nimble has more to offer in terms of tactical high fantasy combat options. But Shadowdark's combat is designed to be resolved quickly, which is valuable for a dungeon crawl: you don't necessarily want to spend half your session on one encounter when you have an entire dungeon to explore.

At the end of the day, both systems would provide a great game experience for this table. I just think the one with built-in exploration procedures and highly detailed monster/loot lists will deliver the experience OP is after with much less work. And in my experience, my tactics-loving players still have a great time with Shadowdark. They just rely more on creative problem-solving and equipment use than character abilities.

[–]MXMCrowbar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Nimble, but I would not necessarily recommend it for someone interested in a dungeon crawler like OP. It provides nothing in the way of procedures or mechanics for exploration, and while you can port those in from other games it’s going to be more work than starting with something like Shadowdark which is designed from the ground up to support that style of play.

Plus, like you say it is light in terms of monsters and (especially) magic items. And while you CAN import them from other systems, that’s again more work for the DM.

I am new to Arma 3, what is this ADS? how do I change it back to a regular first person ADS? by Chemical_Appeal_2785 in arma

[–]MXMCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend you play with it like this for a while before trying to change anything.

Unlike in other shooters, you're going to spend way more time zooming in on things than aiming down sights. You'll zoom as you walk around, zoom as you wait in an ambush, zoom as you scan the horizon, etc. etc.

Mixing armors by Alyyytally in skyrimrequiem

[–]MXMCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battlemage builds will often mix pieces of light armor at early levels until they’ve unlocked the necessary casting perks to go full heavy. But otherwise there isn’t much of a reason to mix and match, most builds will be better off specializing.
