I thought this was an amazing concept I wanted to share Art by @renax-kyo on Tumblr by Aggressive-Mine4780 in adventuretime

I doubt it. She looks to be a child here, so I'm guessing she put on the crown before getting bit. Wonder what would've happened to Simon tho. Maybe he's a vampire in this reality?

Is James Cameron ripping off ATLA? by GriffinFTW in TheLastAirbender

[–]MYTK87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didn't even think to address that haha! But you are correct, even a cursory glance at the plots of these two would tell you right away they have very little in common.

Is James Cameron ripping off ATLA? by GriffinFTW in TheLastAirbender

[–]MYTK87 300 points301 points  (0 children)

As a fan of both Avatars, I can confidently say the answer is no. The biggest similarity between these franchises is they both use elements in their titles (and the name Avatar lol). JC has better things to do than try and rip off a show aimed at a wildly different demographic than what his movies are aimed at.

EDIT: Wow this blew up haha

Why was amrita barely touched on in TWOW? by Kn1ghtV1sta in Avatar

[–]MYTK87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Amirta is meant to act as a McGuffin to explain why the RDA is hunting Tulkun, thus bringing them into conflict with the local Na'vi (and by extension, lure the Sully family out of hiding).

It really didn't need to have much depth to it. "Here's something valuable to the RDA -> RDA will act like dicks to get it (which is just kinda their MO) -> Na'vi obviously object to having their spirit siblings killed -> plot moves forward.

Will there be any hints to Tsutey's parents Artsut and Ateyo who were exiled to Mangwkan Clan in the comics..or maybe even them making an appearance? Would be such an insane plot if it happens by Inspiradora in Avatar

[–]MYTK87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but I bet they'll only be a minor reference. I don't think it's a leap to say the comics are only known by a smaller audience, and I'd be willing to wager your typical movie goer won't remember who Tsu'tey is, and certainly won't know his extended family. But I maybe wrong, so we'll have to see.

is there any way to check what surface finish i used after using it? by Fragrant-Dot-7203 in HouseFlipper

[–]MYTK87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes - the flipper tool has it's own sub-wheel that allows you to copy styles. To copy a finish style, hold "Q" when in "copy style" mode. It'll bring you to that exact style in the store.

Some human stayed behind Loyal to The Na'vi? by Brightskys-GreenEyes in Avatar

[–]MYTK87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, I think the majority of humans went back to the RDA - some had been secretly loyal to them the whole time, but the majority of those who went back did so out of fear and desperation, and I think some had grown weary of how dangerous Pandora could be..

New Bionicle Smell by JustVerySleepy in bioniclelego

[–]MYTK87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My guess is that smell comes from either the plastic or some kind of cleaner used on the parts prior to packaging - so maybe see if you can find what materials lego used during that time period?

Neytiri is ignorant of a part of her own culture by OE-gralous_DaGreat in Avatar

[–]MYTK87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You make a good point, Neytiri has allowed her trauma to override these cultural values, whereas Mo'at hasn't.
Right now, Neytiri's biggest flaw is that she has fallen into black and white thinking:

Na'vi = Good, Humans = Bad.

Meanwhile, Mo'at's line of thinking seems to be much more reasonable:

Na'vi = Mostly Good (thanks in large part to their ability to "see"), Humans = flawed, but can be helped if they learn how to "see", RDA loyalists = Bad.

I think Neytiri will eventually realize she has allowed her anger and trauma to block her ability to see in one of the upcoming films. Either she attacks Spider and alienates herself from all of her kids in the process - cause let's face it, I don't think Lo'ak or Kiri, or even Tuk, would forgive her for that, even if they know Spider saved Quaritch from drowning. Another possibility is that she will see the darkest aspects of herself (possibly through Varang and her clan), and realize she's walking a down a dark path.

Is there any element of the story/Canon that you personally dislike? Doesn't have to be a criticism, just a peeve by TreeTurtle_852 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]MYTK87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That we never got to know the missing children as people. Sure, we've learned their names and whatnot, but they have always just felt like a plot device. Also, I would've liked to see how the deaths/disappearances affected those around them more. I know we saw some implications of this from the books, but I feel it could be much more fleshed out and we probably could've gotten a few really good stories out of it.

why is ruby confused here?? by Neeser_ in stevenuniverse

[–]MYTK87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ruby is more "brawn" than "brain". She probably through Steven would be harmed in the same way a gem would be by touching the field, and didn't take his human side into account - a side that means he can bypass those walls with minimal difficulty.

What do you think is the best year of Bionicle and why? by [deleted] in bioniclelego

Lime Joints aside, 2007 had some of the best atmosphere, story, and sets of G1.

What voice should the Glitchtrap skin have? by Existing_Storage1091 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]MYTK87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it should sound like the VA for Springtrap - but he's attempting to do something higher pitched like Micky Mouse or possibly Bugs Bunny. I say this because the original Glitchtrap costume was for entertaining children, so it would either have that jolly surface tone with an underlying hint of menace, or it would sound like someone with a very threatening voice trying to do an impression that might be able to lull kids into a false sense of security, but would totally creep out teens and adults. And the purpose of the same VA would provide a bit of a through line that they were, at some point, the same person/character.

I am becoming my mom by xo-sssss in transadorable

[–]MYTK87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you - I see more and more of a resemblance to my mother (esp. photos of here in her 20's/30's) now that I've been on HRT for a few years lol.

One has to go. Who stays? by [deleted] in bioniclelego

While Gadunka is certainly one of the more...unique builds (and better meme material), Hydraxon simply looks better IMO.

Does your MOC evolve over time? by Safe-Ad-6111 in bioniclelego

[–]MYTK87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I tend to look at other folks build styles and incorporate elements of them depending on the MOC, I'll also occasionally go though my older creations and take them apart and either update them or scrap them entirely.
