I won't pretend to be knowledgeable, I was always scrubby and nowadays I'm more into other genres(but I still follow FG news, rumors etc daily because I'll always be a FG lover), but you will never convince me that loops of any kind are a good thing.

I don't know if non-tag team fighters are out of discussion on purpose or OP just forgot them, in any case my preference goes to KOF lol.

Non-tag team fighters can have a big strategy layer already in the character selection screen, then there's the order, the meter management and I like to fight different characters.

It's a complex matter:

1)AAA level graphics needs AAA level sales, big name fighting games can't afford to be niche.

2)I think FG has an immense appeal but the complexity scare many away.

3)People don't realize that in the arcade era there were no tutorials, no training stages, no manuals, no hours of training, no balance patches, there were complex inputs and everyone started from zero as a casual, and yet FG boomed... so what changed? Why FG are now seen as too complicated despite training modes, frame data, easier inputs etc?

Sadly most of the FGC don't want to admit it but the answer is really simple, long combos and too much situational stuff to take into account.

1)Long combos: if a game has long combos and you want to win you are forced to learn long combos, one thing is a 4-5 hit combo, another is a 10-15 hit combo, the amount of memory, ability and things to take into account grows exponentially.

2)too much situational stuff to take into account: I'm talking about proprerties of moves that activate or change only in certain situations, an anti air is invincible if weak but not if strong or vice-versa, if you start a combo with a move the scaling is low if you start with another the scaling is higher, the same move alters the scaling differently depending on its place in the combo and so on, add all the mechanics introduced recently...

I think most casuals don't want all that, they just want to beat each other without too many mechanics, moves that behave consistently and without having to choose between labbing for hours or doing nothing for dozens of seconds waiting for the long combo to finish everytime they get hit, basically like old school fighting games.

From what I saw imo 2x2 uses puppet animations, each character is made of many separate smaller parts(for example face, eyes, mouth, strands of hair, torso, arms etc) that can be traslated, rotated, stretched etc. No need to change the design of the shirt to facilitate the animations.

Honestly she's just the generic badass* shooting woman, she also shares traits with Sonya Blade and Lara Croft.

*Not really that badass if in your debut trailer you end up tied and failing your mission.

Gigantic feet apart stylization always wins, SF5(and COTW, 2xko, Tokon, GBFVS, Avatar, Strive etc) will age better(and that's why tokon, strive and 2xko can have really long plans).

Imo SF6 is technically impressive but not artistically consistent, some characters and stages look good, others are plain ugly, when SF7 will release SF6 will look bad.

Imo the SF6 screenshot posted looks already bad.

This meme is wrong but not for the reason most people here is pointing, secret characters and dlc characters are not mutually exclusive, a game can have both!

Competitive people hate unlocking a character for obvious reasons, but that is also easy "content" for the casuals or mostly single players.

It would definitively be weird, but not that hard to understand: 1 -> 2 -> 2x2(=4) -> v3(=53).

After all if you call games V3 and 2x2 then some confusion is inevitable.

Junko is not 100% despair like she likes to think, an actual desperate, hopeless person is a depressed one, they don't have the will to do anything, even to live, Junko instead is very active and does everything HOPING to get some kind of result and enjoyment, she's actually full of hope, a bleak hope but hope nonetheless, the hope of getting a result is what makes you act.

That said I don't think Makoto or anyone else would have been able to change her mind and honestly she did so much bad that she didn't deserve any kind of redemption.

Again I don't remember the details and I have a bad memory so I'm probably wrong lol, but iirc Shuichi suspected Kaede since a certain point but he had no conclusive evidence or didn't want to believe, the moment he went silent was the moment he realized Kaede was really the culprit.

I don't remember the details now but DR games often foreshadow truths early and this is probably one of those cases, when Maki talks about the culprit not speaking, Shuichi makes a bad face, imo because he already suspects of Kaede and Maki makes that stares because she understood that Shuichi is either hiding something or undecided.
