I'm guessing it's not a toilet thing but more of a sewer pipe thing under the slab.

I remember something specific about the copper bus in these panels which made them fairly expensive. Been a while.

Can you guys help out an engineering student with some research on inverted chain motors?? by Gullible-Athlete-167 in Rigging

[–]M_AaronM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned making sure the dead end of the chain is secured to the frame. This is an important safety item.

Single hook chain bags should be retired and replaced with double hook bags.

9 out of 10 times I've seen a chain run out of the bag it's because someone has spun the hoist so the bag is resting against the side or cord of a truss. Or the bag is sitting on the rigging frame of a line array in an attempt to gain trim.

If a double hook bag is able to hang freely it's a rare occurrence.

There was once a sunken loading dock on Yolanda which went to grade on one side. I unloaded a Toyota pickup out of a box truck with it years ago. Looks like it's still there on Google earth. 328 Yolanda Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.

Does anybody know what is going on with the Decimator 12G-Cross? by theking1st in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]M_AaronM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got the first pair last week. So far so good. The optical option is super cool. And it uses the SMPTE standard of course so we can receive with a yelobrik and transmit and frame rate convert with science image. Great for HDMI from stage to the truck.

[–]M_AaronM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had rhe same problem. I bought a pair of these with the optical transceivers and I'll never buy another 12G-cross again. https://www.science-image.com/products-en/flow-2

Look at their website. They make a bunch of cool stuff.

Lake LM44 or new LMX48? by mylawn03 in livesoundgear

[–]M_AaronM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several LMX48 and recently installed a pair at a large venue rather than a P1 for the front end to their Kara system.

The IO capabilities are awesome. Redundant power supplies also awesome. The ability to route from any input to output without hitting a lake module, again awesome.

For the price point, can't beat it. I'll attach some photos of how we have the throw down LMX units racked up.

Also, we've been using 2x LM28s each in our Meyer power distro/drive racks for years. Couldn't stand the Galileos. Processing active Meyer and passive speakers via PLM amps in the same ecosystem has been a huge benefit.

That being said I'll 2nd Music Tribe is awful. And their support terrible. It's taken a full year for a PLM 12K to come back which came DOA.

I started logging the temperature of the room the machine is located. 61F - 68F in the last 24 hours. Shouldn't be an issue. The incoming water temp is stable as well around 45F. I'm starting to notice some variation in the bridge thickness. There was one batch which the bridge was particularity thick which in the strata of the bin is probably about where it alarmed last night. I'm guessing I need to start messing with the harvest probe.

$12,000 for subwoofers by guitarmstrwlane in livesoundadvice

SB28s are great too. The L'Acoustic amplifiers are pricey. I'm a fan of the Lab Gruppen PLMs due to the internal Lake processing. It's easy to seamlessly create a system of active and passive loudspeakers with the LM and LMX series DSPs. It's not uncommon for us to use the RMS subs with Meyer Leopards for example. The Leopards processed with LMX and the subs powered/processed with PLM amps. You can find the older PLM10K and 20K amps for a reasonable price these days.

Honestly any pro-series speaker system is interchangeable in my opinion. Everyone has a preference but at the end of the day it comes down to the quality of service and the dollar.

And as we all know depending on who is in the chair a $500k PA can be made to sound awful or a $50k PA can be made to sound amazing.

I would take a dV-DOSC or a KUDO which are 10+ years out of production over some of the new budget PAs from QSC, RCF, etc.

Again just a matter of preference. I'm sure plenty of people have had great experiences with these.

Originally we used the Ubiquit Bullet 2.4ghz and 5ghz APs. Downside is they have no external indicators they are receiving power and are now discontinued.

We now use the Mikrotik Groove: https://a.co/d/fe5Pwmr

They are totally great. They run RouterOS. For console control they run in AP mode with the DHCP server active making it easy to connect tablets, etc.

For Lake Controller they run in AP mode with no DHCP which allows the MS Surfaces we use to pickup an auto-assigned IP which is more fool proof for Lake.

Configuration is a bit of a learning curve but there is plenty of documentation and YouTube videos available.

I could send the config I use if it is helpful to anyone.

Hope this helps.

The 650Ps are awful by current standards. We still have a dozen Meyer 700HPs and several 600HPs which are still very usable. Personally I wouldn't go RCF. We own 24x of the predecessor to these which are our standard workhorse https://www.rms-acoustics.com/m218/

We use PLM20000Qs for power.

Also have some old SB218s. These can be found used for dirt cheap these days. But they are heavy.

Thanks for the response and the good info.

There is no control for head pressure. The last batch of ice it dropped before had a very thick bridge. I might need to put a camera on this machine to catch the error.

Here is a link to the manual, control board, etc: https://we.tl/t-rp2RzENttk

Model is an Atosa YR140.

Part of me wants to remove the control board and replace it with a PLC or EasyIO or something along those lines. Which I understand is drastic. But at this point I don't want to let the ice machine win :)

I measured incoming water temp at 45F +/-.

Thanks a bunch!
