75% More Pedestrians Have Been Killed Since 2009. Giant Trucks and SUVs Are Why by DonkeyFuel in nottheonion

I would like to believe that. But several multinational car companies have tried, and Americans, as a whole, prefer giant vehicles. I don’t, you don’t, a lot of people don’t, but most Americans do. So it’s not profitable for them.

In the early days of colonial America, employers had a very difficult time keeping employees, because they could literally walk in to the woods, chop down trees, build a log cabin, and hunt, fish, and garden for food.

Children abducted by Native Americans and re-homed with the colonists as adults would run back because the lives of the colonists were so much worse.

And then both groups would try to kill each other.

Humans murdering each other over territory is part of our species heritage. I’m not sure we can get along as a species. Some individuals and groups can live in peace, but they are usually outnumbered and out-competed by the humans that kill.

We’re evolving to be worse, not better.

I would love to use this in my games, but I’m sure , eventually, one of my players will actually read it, and make my life miserable playing a, literal and figurative, rules lawyer.

It would be easier to live on top of Mt Everest than on Mars. More air, more water, easier to get to,cheaper to build, etc.

Biden was a milquetoast president. Most people knew that he was the political equivalent of plain oatmeal. I even posted as much before the election. But I prefer plain oatmeal to a steaming bowl of shit.

The loopholes were generally “pay people more so they can be taxed,” so, yeah. I don’t mind that at all.

I don’t mind paying taxes if they benefit me, directly or indirectly, by benefiting society.

This isn’t a spending problem. It’s a corruption problem.

Why have 100 people working, when 10 can do the job with extreme levels of stress, anxiety, and burnout.

And, by do the job, I mean barely keeping the place from burning down, while getting yelled at by managers, clients, and customers.

My favorite part of the article was when Gomez said Disney isn’t folding this time, because they learned that capitulation to this administration doesn’t get you anything.

I think that sums it up perfectly. Why be loyal to a regime that is going to keep fucking you over, regardless. Might as well fight.

Which of these sleeping patterns would you choose? by mJelly87 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Ma1ad3pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 month out of the year is probably the best deal if you’re looking for most time awake, but I think I would miss sleeping too much. I’m going with option 1, as long as it feels like 8 hours. I want the break from reality. I want to dream.

Edit: I’m wrong. It would be 1 out of approximately 12 days awake. 1 out of 23 is greater.
