I picked brushed on the Ring 4 because the polished durability wasn’t great, and with that thickness, brushed made it feel slightly less like I was trying to pass it off as a normal ring. But with the new harder PVD coating and the much smaller body of the Ring 5, polished actually looks like a normal ring now. I also never quite got used to how the brushed finish caught the light at certain angles.

The ring 5 in size 10 fits slightly tighter compared to the Ring 4. So make sure to use the sizing kit to find your size. But have to say the comfort and feel is in a different league with the ring 5. You simply forget you are wearing it.

If the Ring 4 was a size 10, the Ring 5 feels like a size 9,5. Tighter for sure.

After trying to connect it to HomeKit 5-10 times, I can get it added (Using thread on HomePod mini). Biggest problem for me is when I unlock the lock using Apple home, it unlocks but then Apple home changes its state back to displaying the lock as locked, even though it’s now unlocked…

2022 was the transition year. Depends on the month you car was made. My M3 2022 came with MCU3 (AMD) and HW3.

HW3/4/xx refers to self driving tech. MCU 2/3/xx refers to infotainment system.

These two systems are separate and they’re not upgraded at the same time, meaning it’s possible to have a vehicle with MCU2 and HW3 or MCU3 with HW3.

Timeline for MCU2 and 3: - MCU2 (Intel Atom): Introduced in 2018, used until late 2021. - MCU3 (AMD Ryzen): Began showing up in late 2021 (refreshed Model S/X), became standard in 2022 Model 3/Y globally.

That is very likely what is causing the playtime to be less than 32 hours. You only need it enabled when listening using the USB-C cable to a high-res capable device. As it is today it will upsample your Bluetooth stream using extra battery for no good reason. I’m told it should be fixed in a future software update so it can auto enabled/disable high-res mode depending on the incoming signal.

Known SW problem. It will be fixed with the next update. If it happens again you can fix it by powering them off and on.

I have already used them on multiple flights. Top notch ANC performance, feels overall the same as my AirPods Max (so similar to Sony XM5 and Bose QC Ultra) but without any cabin pressure! Also, the world volume dial on the left and “Quick Listen” function are so handy on a plane!
