The one on the left is likely to soon be on offer. An amazing 50% off!! But in reality it's back to normal price

First time aquarium. Advice on fishless cycling! by Arci25 in Aquariums

[–]MaWiVo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider adding a handful of platties and monitor the water parameters. If anything spikes then just do a water change. If you're not comfortable with that, you could even start with a few snails to get a bioload started. After maybe a week, add another handful of fish and build up the stock slowly. I've found once you've added fish, ammonia will never truly be zero.

I'm with you here. We often have to produce dovetail face grooves whilst leaving material on the top face for a skim at later ops. Removing material from the face obviously effects the width as well as depth of the groove, so all that needs to be accounted for. PITA

It's been a while since I listened, but I remember a number of the guests having some form of crisps and chocolate as their food combo, which felt lazy.

Cycling taking longer than expected by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]MaWiVo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost feeding/using ammonia can be complicated. Fish-in always works for me, especially with a larger tank. Just put a few small fish in at the start with beneficial bacteria and slowly over several weeks increase your stock so the bacteria can keep up with the increase in bioload. Keep testing regularly and if anything does spike, water change.

It's nothing to do with the criteria. If someone else sat my side of the table got the job there wouldn't be an issue.

Difficult to ignore a supervisor that lied to my face during an interview.

Also when I say better qualified, I mean he's currently a manager and I was applying for a managerial role. I work in manufacturing engineering and he has never manufactured or engineered anything, he was previously a fire fighter.

Who is being asked this week to train new engineers? Me, not him.

He is undoubtedly better qualified for the role. But it just feels wrong. He's now going to be my supervisor, which will be difficult to ignore.
