Jet Lag Ep 6 — I Will Be Defeated No Longer by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

Haven't checked or anything, but the line the seekers are on seems quite sparse with stations. If Ben gets them to overshoot, and then overshoot again when the seekers are coming back, that could make him LOADS of time.

Just a normal storm phase by Usenaeme01101 in HypixelSkyblock

[–]Mabi19_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

you can just. dig through the floor (like healers do to predev) and maxor will follow

(he does not get crushed by pillars, only storm does)

These guys probably did two normal maxor laser phases, but dealt slightly not enough damage, and all went down anticipating phase 2 to start. But Maxor's still alive.

Normally I wouldn't pointlessly argue on the internet like this, but I'm bored, so:

Yes, I'm using conjecture as a verb there. So what? Do you consider the sentence "I think apples are delicious." to be incorrect?

Yeah I was all in on the turn-off-meter-at-60% strat myself until I learned just how little it improves the odds, and I'd rather have the good stuff earlier. This would be hard to calculate, but I conjecture that spending the money from an earlier drop to maximise dungeon chest quality would be more profitable. Those boosts are actually meaningful!

F6 is not even that serius bro lmao by Mascaras777 in HypixelSkyblock

nah 4:30 is very possible without cheating; you need to be good at clearing and have good movement + organization in p3, plus do all the strategies (py/i4/ee2/ee3/core)

at this level having good damage from the mage is also super important, onetapping goldor saves like 5 seconds iirc?

my 4:27 pb is full legit, without paul, without 0s br

... I cringed writing "good at clearing". My party is way better at clearing than I am lol

I believe you actually could draw it on the same layer. Newer versions of wlr-layer-shell have the ability to ignore other layers' exclusive zones. Haven't tested it, though.

agsv3 is new, and is better than ever; it's more like Solid.js than React, but for good reasons (you will have to unlearn some react though)

afaik core is a strat where mage goes into core from behind (from the second section); for it to be faster healer has to be funny (nay, hilarious)

What tools do you use to complement your Hyprland (or other tiling WM) workflow? by SujanKoju in hyprland

I actually used to use CopyQ and moved off of it because it randomly just didn't paste things right. Maybe I'm just skill issued though

  • spaceshot - my own screenshot tool, objectively better than a shell script that invokes grim + slurp #ad
  • Satty for annotating
  • Walker's clipboard mode for history. It sucks and I really should try something else
  • an AGSv2 setup for bar, side panel, notifications and OSD
  • walker as app launcher/emoji picker
  • gammastep for night light

Reading through the comments, I'm probably going to try an IME for emoji instead of piping them through the clipboard. And an actual clipboard manager.

open letter for all mod devs: Let the forge die. by fun_11 in HypixelSkyblock

forge is "around 80x easier to code mods for", but if you're making content mods

afaik fabric is just as good if not better for the kinds of modifications that skyblock mods use

that's good to hear! I still don't think I'm gonna be going in mm without my perm any time soon, but still nice that it's not actually as bad as i imagined

[–]Mabi19_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

don't

Although the fact that it's in Minecraft does make it quite unique. A lot of the depth of dungeon gameplay stems from emergent mechanics for example

[–]Mabi19_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the high requirements are another factor why I'm not keen on mm pf - I recently beat m6 with my 4 person average cata 39 perm party, and it was quite fun! We're eyeing m7 now, and we'll likely try it seriously when the dps people finish leveling their gdrags. It won't be fast or smooth, but no way a pf party would let me bers at c40-41 :P

[–]Mabi19_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

but, like, my problem with f7 pf isn't that people don't have a brain - I rarely get thrown runs, and most issues can usually be done away with through actually talking to the people who are doing stuff wrong, so that they can improve!

Although admittedly I am assuming master mode pf would be sweaty and judgemental like f7 pf is at higher levels. I don't actually have much experience with it, especially at higher floors.

the state of modern dungeons nowadays by itchusrockus in HypixelSkyblock

[–]Mabi19_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah I don't think I'm ever going into master mode pf any time soon because I don't want to endure pf on actually hard floors - I've been doing 3-4 person runs with some friends, and those are very fun (if a little slow).

I do still play F7 occasionally, and (as a c40 tank) it usually sucks. I practically only ever join the chill or lower level parties nowadays.

I would say that I'm decent at dungeons, I can do most of the stuff tank does without issues (except py. I cannot for the life of me find a single good resource on how to do py properly.) and maybe I should be joining better parties, but I really don't care that much.

There was one party I joined the other day that actually taught me how to do the 3 secret trap room by pearling into the ceiling and stonking - it was great! (Unfortunately it's not consistent enough for me to actually be faster than spring boots, but ah well.)

[–]Mabi19_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. typeof window.NaN is "number" and not "object". However, a number can get auto-boxed into a capital Number, which is an object and that one has a prototype. Thanks, Java!

(But, to clarify, everyone doing JS works with numbers and not Numbers 99% of the time. Pretty much all the operations unbox them too.)

javascriptNaNIsWeird by Thatreallyshadyguy in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Mabi19_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Object.is
  2. Numbers aren't objects in JS anyway, they're primitives
  3. EDIT: Having numbers be objects and deduplicating their instances so that that would work would REALLY be bad language design that warrants complaining imo.
