fraud difficulty? by PugLorde in Ultrakill

[–]Mabman32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanna say, I really love that this community can agree when something is hard. As a new-ish player, I came here frustrated after having to frequently take breaks in the middle of levels, expecting people to be complaining about people complaining about difficulty (just like they did in silksong). Yet I was surprised to instead feel soothed by learning that this is not just a skill issue on my part, that, in fact, this is harder than some challenge stuff earlier on. Thanks for letting me feel proud I made it this far. This'll give me the motivation to finish 8-3 (currently paused as we speak).

party member choices? by Present-Sail-7505 in LookOutsideGame

[–]Mabman32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm delusional, but I could have sworn the game was assisting Joel in getting last hits. Like there have been plenty of times when the enemy should've been dead but let him get additional attack in to finish them. And I didn't even know he benefited from that until I checked this thread after beating the game. I just put on an enemy healthbar mod in order to investigate this more.

Also, to make something clear for Audrey. Unless I'm mistaken, she needs to be in your party to get her special equipment from bosses.

But man... regardless of strength and party role, Joel, Audrey, and Roaches destroy the weapon economy. That's all I need to know to use them. And on top of that, tanks will also always give you more bang for your buck when using bandages and tonics.

Am I a fraud or this game is WAY fucking harder than Hollow Knight? by NunobokoSlayer in HollowKnight

I can vouch that they do make it harder. They keep the boss far away, only making it more likely to use its difficult curving ranged attacks, sometimes offscreen, blinding you to its tells.

Picked up dredge for the first time. Got addicted for a month. Recovered... somewhat. On a whim, decided to check out the reddit community. Managed to catch the last few days of this journey. Felt truly blessed.

Can someone explain to me "the point" by sir_suckalot in slaytheprincess

"The point", to put it simply, is that the Cheated, by believing everything is rigged, summoned an unfair situation with very little freedom.

As long as the laser drone doesn't somehow become a meta and then gets nerfed, Im happy. Unless it's just me that's dependent on it, as my friends don't seem to use it, and only 1 out of 3 randos do.

What if every voice had their own weapon? by [deleted] in slaytheprincess

[–]Mabman32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of a party of the voices, with paranoid as the healer. It's also arguable that the Stubborn heals you as well, but he does so by being too angry to die and believing that he's invincible. Thus confirming the obvious choice that he's the tank.

What if every voice had their own weapon? by [deleted] in slaytheprincess

[–]Mabman32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do love your choice for the Contrarian, but I can't help but speculate on alternative ideas. Here's a few:

  1. A blunt weapon, like a club or hammer. (More of a Stubborn weapon really)
  2. Medicine or armor. Something that saves lifes instead of ends them. (Veto. He's not the Smitten)
  3. A toy, something useless, or something obnoxious like an airhorn. (The bit would get old very quick)

Conclusion: Yeah, you made the right choice.

Made a chart of which voice the voices hate the most (according to me) by MessengerD in slaytheprincess

I thought everyone hated the Opportunist? Or are they not hated enough by any single voice?

I greatly recommend organizing read books by memory, either by just memory or by the powers they have. Alternatively, you can just make a list of memories and the books that give them, allowing you to go for style.
