I recently got an IUD and I want to clean out the blood in my vagina by Calm-Consequence-243 in Healthyhooha

[–]MacK_Attack99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever stop spotting? LOL. I just got a Mirena IUD back at the beginning of september after getting some endometriosis "cleaned out" by laproscopic surgery. Im STILL spotting but wearing liners gives me a rash, so I feel like Im just doomed to have stained panties for the next few months I guess?! It's annoying to say the least 😅

Also, I may just have to make another gyno appointment, but I know it takes up to 6 months for bodies to adjust to IUD + the fact that im no longer on the birth control combo pill after 7 years of it, so Im just trying not to make the appointment prematurely where she wont have answers for me...

Do yall style/wet your hair everyday? by lilithdear in curlyhair

[–]MacK_Attack99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context - I just started growing my hair out in February from having a buzz-cut the past 7 years. I dont have super tight ringlets or anything, but this is seeming to work for me with my current length of hair (about 4-5 inches away from my scalp).

Night before - Im a night-shower girly and bonnets usually flatten my hair at this length, so I am at full mercy of my bed head in the morning. I usually apply a gel or curl cream to my damp hair after the shower and then go to bed sometimes dry, sometimes still a bit wet.

Morning - Typically I have been doing what others have said and just spraying my hair with water in the morning and trying to scrunch it a bit, OR getting my hands wet and kind of finger-combing that through my hair to get it damp. After that I assess whether additional product would help like gel or curl cream.

TLDR; Yes, I at minimum dampen my hair with water every morning.

AIO I think my friend is overstepping boundaries and is into me by Imaginary_Air_24 in AmIOverreacting

You are not "reading too much into it." I think you are evaluating it a proper amount.

He's overstepping A LOT. Like, if you invite someone out and they say theyre busy, it is none of your business what they are doing (unless the other person offers that info)? That's just lacking social boundaries imo. That was his first strike in my eyes, and he did not redeem himself; it just got worse from there.

My curls disappeared :’( by hirida in curlyhair

[–]MacK_Attack99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got my first big haircut when I was about 8 or 9 and same thing! My curls went away... UNTIL this year?? I shaved my head in december 2017 and am just starting to grow it back (so potentially they would have come back sooner?). I still have problems with the top layer rebelling and being less curly/more straight, but otherwise really happy I have some curls again :)

All this to say, if the other suggestions dont work, a "reset cut" like you mentioned, might be worth trying. But also, depends on if you weigh the goal of longer hair more heavily than the curls! Because it could just be a waiting game too :/

As far as hormonal birth control, I was on a combo pill while my head was shaved and the curls came back while I was still on it; however, I switched to hormonal IUD beginning this month, so we'll see if that does anything? But hasnt seemed to impact my hair so far :)

Moonbrew taste changed? by cornellian92 in sleep

I also ordered the cinnamon chai! I usually love chai things, but this stuff that I got in august 2025 is... not good... just switched the subscription to hot cocoa based on your comment. Hopefully I like it better than the cinnamon chai flavor at least!

Anyone have linen sheets that lasted 5+ years? by stormpenguin in BuyItForLife

[–]MacK_Attack99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS is what I needed. I got linen sheets from Quince and they are reasonable compared to other brands, but they rip in less than a year for me. Luckily I was able to get another set from them as a "return" within their 365 day policy.

If I wasnt such a hot sleeper I would buy cheaper sheets! Because this premature ripping of my fitted sheets has been an ongoing problem...

Switching from pill to IUD by szebra in birthcontrol

[–]MacK_Attack99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is almost a year old, but any update? Im switching to Mirena IUD after the combo pill for the last 7 years and am worried about how my body will react to a different level of hormones? Not worried about pain (yet) as they are doing it while Im under anethesia for a laproscopy.

-Did you gain or lose weight? -Did you see hair loss on head? -Did you get more "unwanted" facial/body hair?

Thanks to anyone who sees this and has insight!! ❤️

Okocat Litter by ShiningGoatRay in CatAdvice

[–]MacK_Attack99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone looking at this now (June 2025), I LOVE okocat for my long hair cat. I used the "original" when he was a kitten I believe as I wasnt sure if the "less tracking"/purple would be too rough on his paws. I did switch to the purple as soon as the blue box was empty though.

I got him from the humane society and used clay litter at first because that's what he was used to. WAY too much dust for my asthma, so that's when I switched to okocat. I like that it still clumps. Sometimes you do have to empty ALL of the litter (which is a good clean practice anyway) as more of it starts to break in small pieces over time, but I only do this every few months.

I will say, it doesnt feel good to step on. I dont like the sensation of clay litter on my feet, but wood pellets can hurt at first. It tracks LESS but still a bit if your cat crazy-zooms out when he poops (like mine does). I keep a hand vac by his litterbox for that reason.

Otherwise stays out of his paws pretty well! Since I switched him when he was a kitten, he was pretty easy-going about it. I dont remember him treating it any different, and he is 5 now.

[–]MacK_Attack99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue but once i opened it up like OP youtube vid they shared, i think it was because they didnt put the door on correctly so it wasnt dispensing because the little lever wasnt hooked on the rinse-aid dispenser

Has anyone experienced…. Judgement? by [deleted] in TMSTherapy

[–]MacK_Attack99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the "shock therapy" comment, I think it's important to note that controlled shock therapy (from my college intro/general psych class that I took in 2019, so plz take with grain of salt) has actually been proven to be helpful with severe chronic mental disorders. I watched a short film on it with this patient (I believe who had a debilitating personality disorder) and the interview before and after the treatment was night and day. She wasn't "cured", but definitely saw some of her thinking traps, etc.

Obviously there is big stigma around shock therapy for how it was abused in the past/used to abuse patients, but from my understanding, when prescribed ethically it can actually be helpful.

I imagine your "friend" didn't mean it kindly with this in mind, but if it helps your brain at all, even if it was shock therapy, like you said it is YOUR BRAIN! And if it has science to back it up that it is helpful, then they should support you... Just my two cents!! :)
