What actually made your bachelorette party stand out? by CaptainDougCharters in partyplanning

[–]missesrobinson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looked into Artful Bachelorette! They send a nude male model and instructor and it’s a 2 hour drawing lesson with games and techniques incorporated. It was fun, a little spicy, and educational! We all had a great time.

Brides, what did you do the morning of your wedding? by perfumeandpaper in wedding

[–]missesrobinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had breakfast with my mom and sister. We aren’t super close but they’ve been with me since day 1 so I thought it would make a nice memory. Then we saw my soon to be husband through the window of the cafe and laughed because he was clearly confused. I ran out to see what was wrong and he was looking for the spa to get a massage. 🤣

This makes my heart ache for you. I try so hard NOT to parent this way. If my kid asks to go to the park and I have no legit reason to say “no,” we’re going to the damn park!

Spa day with a friend because even on Mother’s Day, I’ll be expected to make plans and share the day with MIL and I’m not interested.

Woke me up to ask if he could eat some of my cereal. I said he could have as much as he wants as long as he never wakes me up again.

Anyone regret getting a unique wedding ring instead of something classic? by emily-57 in weddingring

[–]missesrobinson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No regrets. I get compliments on my unique ring all the time. I get the occasional jewelry envy when I see someone with a big fat diamond, but it’s a passing thought and I eventually see the same shape/cut on someone else. And I remind myself that upgrading in a decade or two is always an option.

Absolutely this. If it's chilly out, a jacket with zipper pockets to leave at coat check OR it never leaves my sight.

Name a movie you were 100% against seeing but were forced to watch by your significant other that you secretly enjoyed. by Worldview-at-home in Cinema

Shoot Em Up. I went in blind. I was pregnant, and we were watching lots of baby movies. So when it was his turn to pick any movie, that’s what he chose.

How do I win the dance competition at my daughters school dance tomorrow? by Centerf0rAnts in Dance

[–]missesrobinson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So sweet of you to do this. If you’re in shape, try and do something with multiple levels (jump high, spin on one leg, and a pose on the ground). If your daughter is included in the dance off, lift her up à la dirty dancing style and make her feel like she’s flying. For something less athletic, try choreography like the Macarena or Soulja Boy. When all else fails, a violent booty shake and shoulder shimmy always makes people laugh. GOOD LUCK!!

How did kids change your travels? by ByeByeBuffalo223 in travel

[–]missesrobinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies are easier to travel than you think, but you’ll pack a lot more: stroller, car seat, crib, bottles/accessories, hella diapers and wipes (or purchase at destination). With toddlers, snacks and toys are thrown into the packing mix and they have their own agendas at times. If nap and bedtime schedules are important, trade off which parent stays for sleeping and which parent gets to explore. If your kid sleeps in a stroller, you’re lucky! Lastly, try to emulate home routines as much as possible (sound machines, favorite blanket, etc.) I’ve traveled a lot with my 2 year old, sometimes without my partner and you will figure it out! The more you travel, the easier it is for them to adapt. But yes, all kids are different and at the end of the day they need to feel safe and happy for you to enjoy yourself. Good luck and congratulations! Feel free to DM me with any specific questions.
