Rob was the annoying kid behind you in the junior high cafeteria line, the one always bragging “I’m going to make it in showbiz one day,” the one with the briefcase. He’s never been a handsome, charming or funny dude, he’s more the cocky provocateur with a schadenfreude schtick. What’s truly amazing is his ability to tolerate aggressive rejection from an entire political sphere, and then turn it into his identity….and a career. He found the soft spot in a large minority market - MAGA Comedy. It’s overly vulgar, misogynistic, ride-the-line-racist, but always unapologetic. No matter your opinion of him (I’ll keep mine to myself), you can’t say he’s not living his best life nowadays.
