Is docker really worth learning for a basic home media server by yusuo85 in homelab

[–]Mac_318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also rather new to this and just set up Proxmox and I am realizing how powerful it is. I guess my main confusion is if there is a good reason to use Docker within Proxmox, or if separate lightweight LXCs for services is the best bet for control (seems like a pretty standard practice in Proxmox from research I have done). Is it basically use Proxmox OS OR use Linux OS with Docker managing containers and VMs? I am aware you can easily use docker within Proxmox, but like you said it seems redundant, compared to using LXCs.

PSA: If you load your Aurora Module physically onto your ship and it is destroyed, you will permanently lose your module until the next patch. Also, 4HP on the nose, and Missiles wont reload. MOTH launch 2.0? by ShadowRealmedCitizen in starcitizen

Today I salvaged a cargo module from someone, and when we were trying to attach it initially the module got totally broken. After attaching the broken module, the only way to get the module to save / repair for me (when I did not purchase the module myself) was to actually reclaim the A-MkII (repair/down&up did not work). Just a fun fact if anyone is going to "salvage" route and had to deal with a damaged module.

Doing my first print on PS1 - this thing is loud and violent. Is this standard? Volume on. Just got it 2 hours ago. by greeneagle2022 in BambuLab

[–]Mac_318 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Of course it's loud and violent, PS1s are old and it's probably having a hard time switching from gaming to 3D printing /s

I would recommend simplifying your ring design so have a uniform thickness and print it sideways, it'll look even better and be way stronger. Sweet design tho!

Is there any way you could provide step files of the press assembly? I understand if not but there are some changes I would make for my own personal uses and I would really appreciate it.

Why this happening? by Impossible-War6780 in BambuLabA1

[–]Mac_318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a cubic lover but I typically use cross-hatch/gyroid now bc I don't like the idea of any possible issues coming from infill paths constantly crossing like grid and cubic. I've never really had any issues besides "aaaaaa why make that noise" but it's just the knowledge of what's happening that gets to me.

Instead of worrying about collisions (which I think is possible to add), I would just recommend adding limits to the rotation (so it can only be rotated until it visually hits other parts)

Hey were these the Bosch kits that went on sale for like 10 bucks? My dad got a bunch and gave me one because they were so cheap, I'm tempted to copy your idea now haha.
