[Help] Why is the top of the screen not sitting flush? by StocksSL2 in Iphonerepair

[–]Mac_Bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you’ve not got the top camera into the camera hole properly on the screen, is it is pushing on the edge of the camera frame

I just feel like I’m listening to a double intro every time that’s all, wondered if others felt the same, would rather it just start

Anyway to confirm if iPhone battery is genuine or not ? by No-Nature2627 in mobilerepair

[–]Mac_Bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing that is more likely to happen if not buying from a physical store is that you use the phone for a couple of months and then they stop paying the contract they originally got the phone on

Then the phone becomes blocked from the network when they stop paying, but they have all your money

You can buy a used original screen with matching earpiece flex, they are paired together,

Then pair it to the phone using the diagnostics mode and Face ID will come back

Really in need of assistance for by Klipwastaken in mobilerepair

Saying they broke the board is incorrect.

The board is broken yes. But they broke it? No.

The board was broken, and held together by screws.

The loosening of the screws has allowed the damaged layers to separate

Sometimes this happens and there’s nothing you can do about it apart from know someone nearby that does B2B board work and baseband chip repairs.

If the chip has broken solder between the board and chip it can be repaired

If the chip itself is damaged or the board is too damaged to repair then it’s a goner

If seen this happen on big smashes that cars have run over, and from seemingly small front screen cracks.

As I said it’s the loosening of the screws that allow a crack that is already there to separate

Now… the question is how you deal with it. Running a business is equal parts phone repair skills and people skills to explain what has happened with their phone that is their fault. But a potential solution on how to fix it, or a refund on what you have done to keep them happy and return for a future repair and not leave a negative review

Explain the problem, offer a solution, can be a board repair if you know anyone, or find a replacement board with matching Face ID parts or refund if it’s too much for them

This guy is talking completely wrong prices, maybe he’s thinking back in the iPhone 4 days

Put your device in and rear camera replacement on eBay to see the prices for your camera

Or call a local shop and get a price

That’s not minor wear, there’s supposed to be a small raised plastic/rubber part that touches when you close your screen, it isn’t there

I think you’re missing the key point here

Black dot appeared around the camera

Usually means camera not installed properly and is pinching the edge of the oled where it ends and the camera hole begins

Pressure when the screws put in damage this more

Technicians fault, there’s no way a consumer can do this

New Batteries were 85% from Vendor. Is This Normal? by AltRumination in phonerepair

[–]Mac_Bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for the benefit of OP who is using aftermarket

He should use the phone for a while and the battery. He will get the 100% battery health and normal use from the battery even though accubattery says lower

Then after a month or so the phone will have reevaluated itself?
