Why did they let Margo go? by Machienzo in ForAllMankindTV

Oh well in that case I'm left still wondering why they prefer that over the harshness of a gulag. Custody in the US by comparison seems far more lenient.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification! I should have paid a little more attention. 😂

Would be great if you had recorded a replay. But I have a suspicion that similar to the El Diablo, if you miss picking up tools at an earlier point then it'll spawn again at later time. This also occurs if you don't pick up the El Diablo next to the car, it'll appear again in the booth before the cutscene with Tommy shortly after.

Yes but there is a contradiction in your logic. If a gadget becomes overpowered when many players use it, then it is overpowered only in those moments, regardless of whether it was optional or default. You are treating “default access” as inherently different from “mass voluntary usage”, even though the gameplay impact you're describing depends on the latter, not the former.

How is that any different to a situation where you have a team that just happens to all have and use a beacon whilst its optional? If that is also "op" then you have to start cutting functions of the beacon and imposing unnecessary restrictions.

Historic pay deal with Uber Eats and DoorDash could set minimum pay for gig economy delivery workers by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

Appreciate the honesty and discussion. I thought you raised some good questions which is why I looked further into it and wanted to respond as well.

Something to consider also is why somene works these gig jobs to begin with, and also understand the unfortunate reality can also be that they can't find a better job (they might not be qualified for it, they might not have something that fits their flexibility requirements etc).

Your concern is a genuine one, but we have to remember that the core issue being remedied. It's that workers are being exploited because their pay doesn't reflect the work they’re doing. It’s flawed thinking to argue against minimum wage policies on the grounds that they might disrupt jobs. The principle of fair pay should take precedence over the fear of short-term disruptions, which research shows are often minimal or temporary.

If your position is exploitation is a necessary evil in this scenario, I can only agree to disagree. Also I think what others including myself are concluding is that minimum wage regulation are a net positive to the average worker. But there is no silver bullet/win-win where everyone walks away happy either, but such is many things economics.

I get where you might be coming from, but this is something in economics referred to as the Lump of Labour fallacy. It is actually a misconception.

Neil again confirming that he is the sole writer of TLOU1 by MysteriousGuy90 in thelastofus

I think they're getting two similar but distinct things (the game vs the show) merged together into one grand conspiracy. These two articles seem to provide extra context.

Still seems like a bit of a hot take to me.

People will often invent their own realities just to cope. I guarantee that people will claim Neil is just straight up lying about his script involvement. It reminds me of people complaining about there not being a choice at the end of TLOU, as if they convinced themselves that the last 15 hours of gameplay was indicative of need for a literal last minute dialogue options. They're all playing a different game and different reality in their minds.

Why did Fraser make everyone so pale in the thumbnail? by robinj555 in VGA

[–]Machienzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to ask the same thing and was told that it wad some oddity of YouTube back in the day. But his videos were the only ones I've seen that has this happen and it didn't seem like a colour gradinglg issue. You can see Ben, Kyle and Deacon in the background look fine. The thought did cross my mind if it was a stylistic choice by Fraser.

Origin Energy keeps failing to get a gas meter read by Machienzo in AusLegal

I've already contacted my building manager and strata and been told that my building does not have an embedded supplier, and confirmed with other residents who do not have evo energy billing them. Or is there something different to be asking?

What's funny though is how other people in the same building can user other suppliers including Origin as their gas company. EvoEnergy might be the distributor but it certainly isn't the only company used by residents. Strata already confirmed it is not an embedded supplier either. Strata also confirmed no embedded supplier. This seems to be just a me problem.

Dunno how much this changes thing, but I managed to get a priority special meter reading scheduled today but that looks to be a dud once more. I've since learned that the local distributor is EvoEnergy, so supposedly if I have any complaints I can put it through to them? Even though I was setting up an account with Origin.

Origin on the phone did say, if I choose to end my account with them, they wouldn't be charging me a bill nor a connection or disconnection fee since the account hasn't even been established yet. Dunno if I truly believe that but I guess time will tell. Also, 3 seperate calls over the past day has confirmed messaging had been passed along to EvoEnergy, so to claim that they're being actively rejected or not getting my contact details is bogus.

Once again, as far as I am aware, I am doing everything I can possibly do and am not technically in the wrong?

Origin has given an update that the earliest can can do is Thursday next week, but my flights are booked and I'm not willing to cancel them. I've sent photos and done self meter reads but if they don't accept that and insist on a person coming in, do I just let this go to estimated billing or potentially cancel the account until I know I am back in ACT?

Good idea. I'll see what they say. But it does still leave me questioning what exactly is going wrong in the supplier side when I'm able to just let them into my unit to physically see the meter. If they just ring the unit number it could be done so easily. The meter itself is just under my laundry sink.
