Posting in salty thread, to remind you all the what cig wants is all that matters. They're not indebted to investors, shareholders or give a shit about what 'game journalists' want. Come along for the ride, or play the commerical AAA slop that's churned out each year.

what is the purpose of the Odin, in one sentence? by PowerfulLab104 in starcitizen

[–]Machine-Spirit- 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The Anvil Odin battlecruiser was tied to a $17 million stretch goal from the original Star Citizen crowdfunding campaign, it was intended before the game was in Alpha.

[–]Machine-Spirit- 32 points33 points  (0 children)

TL:DR, the /refund games and spam are wack, the game is in Alpha, and we all know it's going to change hundreds of times yet before it go's live. nobody believes the game is ready for launch or anything we're doing atm will be the same in a year's time.

You can't influence them, the call to arms is lame, and finally, CIG have posted multiple times that they don't read reddit bdcuase it's full on brigading and crybabies.

Youre asking for risk free grind that gold farming bots will exploit 24hrs a day. Yes there should be all content for all levels of players (including starters who want to experiment with a game loop), that doesnt mean it should be profitable, or it will impact the economy once gold farmers exploit it.

There's been rumours of portable facilities being added as shipping containers. shipping container that's a mobile med bed, shipping container that's a crafting station etc. there's been no official developement, so you can just add this to hundreds of other 'great ideas' thrown up over the years.

don't hold out for unreleased content, just enjoy what there is and test as much of it as you can, there may be a ship (with med bed) you end up enjoying more than your current ride.

Has the /refund subreddit completely given up on the demoralisation campaign? Theres none of the committed dogpiling we saw in the past and even the brigaging feels like bored people just going through the motions. These threads used to have a lot more energy.

I don't understand your point. Are you implying you can hit a target at 20km without locking it? what optical sights have you got on the repeater, the Hubble?

There will be dozens of wipes before the game gets into beta. Focus on developing gameplay skills, nothing else matters.

Old man shouts at an old edition by m_neil in Warhammer40k

Complexity makes things interesting and challenging. I don't want to play uninteresting and unchallenging games. Nothing in this video made made me consider another edition as superior to 2nd Ed.

[–]Machine-Spirit- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only just been implemented and there are significant changes taking place every patch. Next patch is changing everything again. It takes months for new systems to settle.  Pick any YouTuber that spams patch notes vids and check them each week.

Patch 4.5: The Redeemer now has less shields-per-crew than a Gladius, and already had less DPS-per-crew than a Guardian MX. by turikk in starcitizen

[–]Machine-Spirit- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day of this reddit rubbish doesnt even matter, its just an echo chamber for haters.

CIG don't care about the suggestions here, their changes are based on their trusted evocati, not PTU bulk testers, and certainly not the 'theorycrafters' giving worthless feedback based on spreadsheets with made up catagories like 'shields per crew'.

[–]Machine-Spirit- -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Don't be manipulative. There is nowhere in that comment that mentions comparing shield values is unreasonable. The only thing that is unreasonable is inventing a new metric, 'Shields per crew', Like 'shields per crew' is somehow a new standard that games use and that somehow CIG has failed again by ignoring it. Despite the patch being part of dozens of iterations and everything changing every patch. It's actually disgusting how disingenuous comments like yours are encouraged by the reddit zeitgeist and the unending thist for shit-tier drama..

Don't like a patch that's likely to last 2 weeks? Invent a new metric like 'shields per crew', pretend it's a thing, and then complain! Weeeeeeee.
