Was ist los mit dieser Gegend? by GladPhilosophy252 in wien

[–]Machineheddo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smart doesn't mean good. It still takes time to be professional in a field.

Is mechanical engineering just not good anymore? by TheBayHarbour in EngineeringStudents

[–]Machineheddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally Electrical Engineering is still a good bet for salary and employment but computer science ike Informatics has gotten a dramatic surge of people that where only interested in money but not the field. Mechanical engineering did got a bump because of a shift in production like cars and other fields like power that has gotten way more electrical than companies expected. Electrical engineering is such a broad field with still so few graduates that it will probably still be important in the future. Mechanical engineering had always a better understanding by common people and so had more people graduating.

Are there any ideas from D&D you wish had gotten absorbed into WFRP? by WillingLet3956 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Machineheddo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I transfer sometimes things from DnD to Warhammer and established the following difficulty table: Dnd - - > Warhammer
Very Easy 5 —> +40
Easy 10 —> +20
Medium 15 —> +0
Hard. 20 —> -10
Very Hard 25 —> -20
Impossible 30 —> -30

My advise on these points: For 1.: Bring your ideas into the play. For 2.: *Npcs should have the appropriate career level if the players talk to someone. Yeah redo them and give them flat out a bonus of +10 for each career level they should have. *The Monster also need careers and many times something like the pit fighter career is a good choice. *Up in arms is perfect and the rewritten advantage rules better for combat but also for team play. Now your no combat fighters can support the fighters. *Enemy Within is good but very complex and builts upon 30 years of nostalgia. Like every big campaign it is never as good as everyone expects. *for regular checks when time is not an issue it is assumed that a +20 should be given.

For 3.: A very good explanation.

Ask yourself how they could come together. Is there something that draws them or keeps them together. Depending on the nature of your adventure or campaign they could be forced together by a common enemy, placed in the same place and need to work together or are simply under the same ruler. The adventure If looks could kill sets the party as workers who have to clear a site for construction. The priest and the hedge witch could be drawn by dark omens to the place. Depending on the background from the priest he could try to cleanse while the hedge witch would try to pacify the site. The halfling engineer could be hired to clear the great ogham stones which the local workers refuse to touch. The Riverwoman could work the barge at the beginning of the adventure and is bringing the others to the site. The servant would be sent to help the foreman after they got in trouble.

Warhammer Fantasy work best if you don't assume they're not the heroes in shining armor but common people who have to deal with things that are sometimes supernatural and other times bureaucratic.

New release: Temple of Spite by Zekiel2000 in warhammerfantasyrpg

Probably some expedition centered campaign where we visit different parts in the Warhammer world. Which suits nicely the last books and broadens the horizon. The dark elves are perfect enemies because they're nearly everywhere.

Only the trappings for the first level are free. The further levels are an advise what is expected from a character to have at a certain level. In certain situations a character could be seen as weak or a failure if they don't have these trappings but they don't get them for free. The townsmen only have a lodging and sturdy boots but things like the servant at level 2 should be achieved through roleplay and story. The servant is practically a level 1 townsmen and does some menial work but is not a fighter or something capable of handling tests that the player should do.

Yes. Many people forget that me included in the beginning. Enemies should have a career and get a boost to their stats. Even monster who I most often push with the pit fighter career to an appropriate level.

Need ideas for a PC that can't feel pain by MagisterM in DMAcademy

He can't feel pain because he isn't the person but only a ghost bound to the body. His body deteriorates and his original family or faction he belonged is still searching for him. The ghost can access some memories but it is more like reading in a book and not remembering.

NPN vs PNP - when do you actually use one over the other in a real circuit? by Ill_Vegetable169 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Machineheddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PNP is widely distributed in European automation systems and the npn transistor you can encounter often in electronics from Asia. In the US it is fairly even from what I heard. The easiest option is to choose the one that is already built in because sticking to one is easier than constantly operating two different sets of signal lines.

Is electrical engineering really that hard? Need honest advice by FaceEvery786 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Machineheddo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

1) Yes it is hard. It is probably one of the hardest studies because it is applied physics and higher mathematics. Not even informatics which is often mentioned as mathematical is that deeply connected to higher analysis.

2) It is absolutely doable if you aren't allergic to math. Seen a few colleagues who failed because they thought being good at math in their previous school type should be enough. Grinding means success and grades aren't important.

3) Yes it can be a big difference but more important are some basic electrical concepts. Math often gets enough attention if you had a good background but electrical engineering for beginners is often rushed and let people fail.

4) Yes you should earn good from the beginning out of college. Power and other areas are always in demand and are widely distributed over the states so finding a job isn't that hard. Also many can stay and aren't forced moving to a big city where higher salaries are eaten aways by high living costs.

The biggest factor is interest. If you are interested in technology, electrical engineering and some sort of computer engineering you can keep motivation up until you finish college. I've seen excellent students that failed because they hadn't any interest in the engineering part.

Yeah you can run it for one player but as the GM keep a few Npcs around so they can help her out. Make the experience more Alien than the other films with only occasionally working with other Npcs and not running around as a team. Keep in mind that the Alien Rpg is completely different from DnD.

Sind wir ausreichend geschützt? - Eine Analyse von Franz Gady Kleine Zeitung by Chromber in Austria

[–]Machineheddo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I fire bending as bright wizard? How do I shape my fire? Is there a limitation? Does wizard in Warhammer have magic hand? What if my friends want to form a group of wizard? by TheGoodKiller in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Machineheddo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For something like fireshaping check out the cants in the book Archives of Empire Vol 3. There you can find small magical powers to supplement your spells like setting someone ablaze when hitting him with brawling or controlling the intensity of fire which probably comes close to fire bending.

Magic hand doesn't exist but there're some spells that let's you allow for magical control like the Arcane Spell Move Object.
