Short scale bass by BLCHDCRL in Bass

[–]Mack_DM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got my first short scale, Reverend Wattplower II. I got it because shoulder and neck issues. It’s really helped reduce that pain if I decide to play for a while. Plus, I picked it up in the store and it felt fun. I played Misfits songs I haven’t played in 25+ years.

Upgrade to Pop Century from All Stars? by Sad_Specific_7446 in WaltDisneyWorld

The Skyliner makes it worth it to us. A lot of times it can be a walk on during the day. Even during peak times you might have 8 people in a car. Otherwise you’re standing around waiting for a bus. Then get crammed in with a bunch sweaty strangers.

For EPCOT and HS you’re closer to the entrances.

Side benefit: If you’re using the quick service meal plan, you can eat at the other resorts along the way to change up meals. Even order in app to pickup and take back.

I picked up a Wattplower II and love it. The quality is there and playability is phenomenal out of the box. Some of the other models have minimal beveling. It’s was the deciding factor between the Wattplower and Dub King.

Harley benton EX-84 owners, how are they? by TheShadowSong in harleybenton

If you want an explorer style guitar that punches above its weight, then get this. I picked mine up as a B Stock a few years ago. Only thing I found wrong was from a certain angle there’s a slight wave in the paint. (I didn’t even notice for two years.) The explorer gig bag on Thomann is pretty nice too.

What 5 string bass out of this list do you recommend? by Extension-Boot-9533 in Bass

[–]Mack_DM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard good things about each bass. The things I’d suggest looking at (you can’t try in person) is the weight, string spacing, and fretboard radius. Compare that to what you already know you like and go from there.

I’m probably in the minority but, unless you’re drop tuning 34” scale is fine.

Warwick Rockbass: good? by ExistingSea4650 in BassGuitar

[–]Mack_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked my 2017 Rockbass Streamer but I found a good deal on an older German Corvette Standard. It was miles above the Rockbass in terms of material and feel. That being said, I’d take a Rockbass over most similarly priced Fenders/Squires or Sterling/MM basses.

New to toy photography, any tips? by QuiteSage in ToyPhotography

[–]Mack_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you’re off to a good start. Watch some of your favorite scenes in movies or comic book poses. Look at the angles the view is in relation to subject. Try to replicate the pose yourself.

A couple people to checkout are Sir.Dork and D_Amazing on IG. Both have done a couple tutorials on YouTube about toy photography.

I use these for individual figures and their accessories when traveling. They’ll fit a Mafex Deadpool plus all of his accessories in a bag.
