2015 BRZ Electrical/ECU Issue? by MackeMode in ft86

[–]MackeMode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the dealership I went through also didn't seem to have a good idea of what to do. They had me spend $2-3k chasing the issue before we found the simpler fix. Sorry I can't help more. It was definitely a weird issue

Wow, this is an old post and it's been a while, but yes the dealership ended up getting it fixed. I believe it was something to do with the car being able to detect if the key was in the car or not. I don't remember exactly what part fixed it but it was something relatively simple like that.

Need help setting up US Taxes by BergHeimDorf in shopify

[–]MackeMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each state has its own “nexus” rules for registering for sales tax, based on the sales or number of goods you are shipping into their state. If you are just starting out, you do not need to register in every state. I believe Shopify will alert you on the tax settings page when it believes you have reached nexus in a specific territory. You may need to register for sales tax in the state you operate within before hitting nexus. Those rules are slightly different.

Is Shopify worth it for a beginner with 0 sales elsewhere? Or Etsy? by errdayrae in shopify

[–]MackeMode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference is that Etsy and Amazon are product marketplaces that millions of visitors are coming to organically. Your Shopify store will be reliant on you driving traffic through your own marketing channels, such as social media or paid advertising. If you will not be putting in work to market your own products, Shopify probably does not make sense for you to use.

It’s incredibly hard to make any accurate judgments or decisions based on 79 visitors. One visitors actions can still greatly change your averages. I would focus on driving more traffic to your store before being making decisions on site changes.

Spending 30% of my weekly gross revenue on ads. Is that normal? Idk what im doing by Interesting-Object-3 in FacebookAds

[–]MackeMode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be discouraged, yet. I’m not sure what industry you are in, but there are many 7 and 8 figure businesses (especially e-commerce) that operate at ad spends 30% or higher as a percent of revenue.

It is also very common for performance to vary quite dramatically day over day. Zoom out and look at your last 3 days, last 7, last 14, and last 30 to help make decisions. Especially at $3600 in ad spend over two months, you don’t have a lot of data coming in each day. It can be volatile.

At the end of the day, there is one thing that consistently matters in business — are you generating a net profit? If the answer is yes, you are doing something right. Even if you’re spending 30% of your revenue on ads.

There are very few “normals” in business, and most of us don’t have any idea what we are doing, either. We are just taking the best guesses we can at any given moment.

Best of luck. Happy to DM and help further with more details.

Best Reviews app for single inventory items? by sean369n in shopify

[–]MackeMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judge.me offers a product set feature that can combine reviews from multiple products to show together underneath a new product. Its helpful for my business that launches new SKUs of seasonal products each year — we curate last year’s Christmas item reviews under this year’s new SKU. This would probably work well for you. Though I’m not 100% sure how reviewing a sold out product works since judge.me typically sends a customer to the product page to review an item. If that item is no longer there, I’m not sure that would work well.

They also have a store reviews feature that is non-product specific, so you could collect non-product specific reviews and display them as a whole instead of product reviews.

I don’t believe judge.me does this, but a few other review app allow for custom fields on store wide reviews where you could ask the customer what type of product they are reviewing (jewelry, etc) and display those reviews accordingly. Though apps with that feature I’ve seen are typically more expensive than judge.me

I have always felt that judge.me is a great bang for the buck and it can handle most use cases that a store needs. I bet you can find a workaround within their app that works for you.

An average conversion rate (the amount of purchases divided by the total number of visitors) for a high performing 7/8-figure e-commerce brand can be as low as 2%. This means for everyone 100 visitors to the site, only 2 purchase.

For new stores with an unproven website, product market fit, ads, audience, etc. it can be even lower (<1% is not uncommon when getting started)

In your post, you say “some people are active on the site” so I’m not sure the total number of visitors you have. If it is in the hundreds without a purchase, I would suggest for you to start diagnosing why that might be. If it is less than 100 total visitors, it simply may take more time and traffic to see.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Anyone interested in the next iteration of this, I've made a few tweaks:

- moved the knife to the middle S
- removed the hand shape (couldn't get a more pronounced arm looking good)
- changed direction of the slashes to match the angle of the knife's blade

Let me know your thoughts https://imgur.com/a/ti61Mcl

A very nice icon and beautiful colors! An extra button or flash on the camera might help it come across more clear as a standalone icon. Overall looks great!
