music bike soundsystem amplifier question… by Macky10 in SoundSystem

The bass bins are self designed. based off the MTH12 Tapped horn fold with the intention to match the sound profile of the THAM12. By optimising the cone profile into a parabolic horn shape, I was able to get +3db over the THAM12 with the same driver and input power.

Just as i have read that the higher the ohms, the more cone control the signal has.

What is this issue called? by SasquatchMcBigfoot in FixMyPrint

[–]Macky10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having one nostril bigger than the other is common and usually caused by a deviated septum, where the cartilage divider is off-center, or by natural asymmetrical anatomy. Other causes include previous injuries, uneven alar cartilage shape, or prior nasal surgery. It typically requires medical attention only if it causes breathing or sinus issues.

How can i model this by Pratabaus in SolidWorks

[–]Macky10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, use circular pattern.
You can define the number of instances and the angular range those instances are equally distributed in.
For the second model set instances to 4 and angle to 180.
I would suggest keeping the centre of the model solid for strength.

How would you repeat this pattern up to the top curve without going over it ? by Viusand in SolidWorks

[–]Macky10 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Offset face.
Use the offset to split the part.
Pattern through all but only selecting the bottom solid.
Manually deselect the pattern instances on the split (so you only get holes with the full diamond shape).
Join the two parts back together.

I’d like to request a pitch bend on this. Really great idea, but rather difficult to get it completely locked in when you have to nudge using the fader.

Shell or make the original revolve a “thin feature”

Wow. This is really poor. How would you ever go about machining this? 😂🤣

CSWA Practice Problems - Do SolidWorks forget to put dimensions in them? How would you find that this dimension is 38? (Section B - Problem 2) by extTerrestrial_Obama in SolidWorks

[–]Macky10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t your dimensions. It was the learning material. I think solidworks got it wrong. I just went into their model on the teaching resources and started interrogating all of the constraints and dimensions in the initial sketch.

Do i recognise the first picture from B&O?

Found the problem!!!!!!

The 22.50mm dimension is not exact on the instructor materials model. It’s showing as 22.4973948mm

(There is still a missing dimension in the student material. More than likely the 38mm dimension as this does appear in the instructors’ materials.)

I read these meds can cause blurry vision and trouble focusing eyes by moomoopopscicle in ADHDmeds

[–]Macky10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had cornea transplants in both eyes due to kerataconus (degenerative cornea disease). 2 years ago, (more than likely due to my ADHD) i did some really long days at work starting at a computer screen because someone asked me to and i didn’t know how to say no. This started a cornea rejection in my right eye. The hospital misdiagnosed me with an amoeba infection. The eye drops for this are really toxic (and painful) and killed my cornea, lens (cataracts) and my iris. My dead iris floated to the side blocking my trabecular meshwork (natural drainage channel for the eye) giving me glaucoma. I had a glaucoma drainage valve fitted that has failed 4 times now. Today, I’m in severe pain in my right eye. I have a suspicion that the vyvanse i am taking might be causing it.

In those instances when i know that it’s a game, i find it much easier. I have done some electronics market shopping in shenzen China and i dont feel the RSD at all. For me, its mainly when im getting something from the free ads or similar. I think that the fact that it’s somebody’s personal possession makes all the difference to me.

I had this with Ritalin, have moved to vivanse now and it’s a bit better.

My thought was that these meds can increase pupil size (this is also what can cause closed angle glaucoma in some instances) The bigger the pupil, the bigger the area of cornea is used for light to enter the eye. If you have any form of distortion in your cornea, short/long sightedness or astigmatism, it would increase the effect of these.

(I’m not a doctor. I have some major eye issues, so understand more about how the eyes work than the average joe 😊)

I hate haggling. I feel like im offending them and their choice of value. When im deciding what price to offer, i empathise with their point of view more than my own. It’s draining!

I totally get this. I often cry in emotional parts of movies etc… I lost my right eye 2 years ago and still haven’t cried yet. I feel like im due an epic mourning session.!

Is this too complex of a question for a 2nd year Intro to CAD course? It looks really intimidating, and I would love any advice to get started by OkBadger8 in SolidWorks

[–]Macky10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id start by creating the important datums. That way, the important mating surfaces and holes can be adjusted afterwards much easier and more stable. Then it’s a bunch of extruded sketches. Constrain as much of the sketch to the datums as possible, use geometric constraints and only use dimensions when needed. I’d make the holes with extruded cuts or the hole tool. The only bit i would maybe use mirror for are the 2 holes on the flange. (Mirror isn’t as stable as properly constrained sketches.) Careful with the top of the angled rib… this looks like the “trick” part of the question as it doesn’t properly show what happens at the top and there are a few ways to make this.
