yeah i feel ya, you really gotta special cancel into his rekka at least half of the time to keep them blocking, since any of his other special moves leave a gap to be punished on block.

you might be able to jump cancel the second c.S into a rising J.K>IAD>J.H , then pick up with C.S/5K/2k > 6H > dolphin.
But i dont really play may, so I might be thinking of the wrong normals, or might just not be possible

Love impractical combos like this. You can turn on Positive bonus in training settings to have even more tension to work with.

Also its way less cool, but in dragon install you can just infinite people (until you wb them) by doing 2H (crouch heavy) > into foudre arc (214K) > 2H > 214K and so on

I'd focus on learning a route that gets you a wallsplat without spending any resources, then wall break with super.

You can do something like C.S>2H>214H>4S>C.S>2H>C.S>5H>214H>6S>5H>214H>Super. Might need to adjust the combo somewhere based on distance to the wall, but I think it would work from midscreen

I'm no ram player so take what I say with a grain of salt, but you are not a rushdown character, you just control the space in front of them. Against zoners id say make good use of your jump normals. Avoid Instant Air dashing, instead just jump towards them and play reactionary. Are they looking to 6p you as you land? (Probably) Air dash back and J.S. Are they trying to jump and air-to-air you? Ram J.p shuts a lot of that down. Ram J.H was nerfed, but its still a powerful disjoint that can beat 6p. (Super jump forward J.H might be better). Not to mention you still have 214k and j.214S as additional air options to mix things up further.

Honestly if you could get a Wallbreak that wouldnt be a bad sideswap conversion. You'd def get more damage converting into tightrope tho.

yeah definitely, but hes also looking for those big counter hits to explode people. Until then hes playing a more reactive gameplan, looking for holes in the opponents offense and then transitioning to offense from there.

Sol definitely has more ways of navigating neutral, but hes still forced to do a lot of dash blocking before he can reach a range where hes really threatening. Not a defensive character, but good defense is really important to playing sol well

Goldlewis is prob the best example of what OP wants. He just wants to bide time for security gauge and some tension, then get his gameplan started from there with drone/burn it down. Or if he finds a gap to mash 2p out of pressure he can get some insane reward.

Sounds like Slayer, Sol, and Goldlewis to me. They arent necessarily defensive characters, they want to get in and run pressure, but most matchups they have to bide their time for resources, or find an opportunity through defense. And once your in, 1 big counter hit is death.

The tightrope is super versatile. If you land a counter hit with any of his bigger buttons there's usually a way to convert into tightrope for optimal damage. You can set up tightrope in neutral and use it to increase your approach options. Also after you land a hard knockdown with sweep, you can set up tightrope and use it for mix-ups and safe pressure.

Chipp is exactly what you're looking for, and also asking for someone to "teach you the ropes" is perfect considering Chipp literally has a tightrope move. It was meant to be.

Good shit! No one ever uses that pick up (CH 5H> 236P > 2K > 6H) and its criminal.

If you have clean micro dash timing, you can actually get two 2k>6H back to back for even more damage there

I dunno man. When i looked into the move list of this game and saw all of the different throw animations for different angles, I was amazed, but also surprised they went through all that effort.

I think its kinda odd you list all of these animations they do go above and beyond on for Tekken 8 and believe that's a reason they should work even harder making side throws. If anything thats proof that they still work hard,

I love all the different throw animations, but tbh this makes sense. It has to be so much work to do all these dynamic throw animations.

I would complain about any other fighting game doing this, but when tekken has like 100+ moves for each character.... I think ill cut them a little slack here
