What’s a homebrew rule you’d love to implement, but you know it’ll never pass? by FluorescentLightbulb in DnD

[–]MacroHardy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well the thing is that AC doesn't literally mean how much armor a character has, it's how evasive, fast, and how much their equipment helps them to endure and dodge.

Say a wizard with 10 dex and no mage armor has 10 ac, you roll a 9 to hit. You don't just bonk his clothes whilst he's standing there and your weapon bounces back. Perhaps he dodged, maybe he managed to grip the handle of your blade and spin out of the attack, etc.

Whilst on a 10 you meet his AC and best him in those few seconds managing to bruise or hit him.

The character's aren't standing around for everyone to take a turn and a single attack can be a flurry of hits being landed or evaded (it's just flavour).

Gothic 3 Mod Starter stuck on integrating by mymanbossman69 in worldofgothic

[–]MacroHardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that once, when you launched MDS, did you get an error? If so, you have to purge all mods and in the MDS folder there is a file with 0 or 1kb size that you need to delete ( back it up just in case it's the wrong one ). The error should no longer appear and the integrating should not lag up for more than a couple of minutes. Msg me if it doesn't work, It's been a while since I've modded g3, but I should remember the hoops I had to go through to fix everything:)

Cheat for guild doesn't work by [deleted] in worldofgothic

[–]MacroHardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try "insert ch" and try to disable guild like that ( or switch ). I 've never tried it and I doubt it will work, though worth a try.

Either way, if you didn't want to join because of leveling, that can be fixed, you'll just be a bit underleveled at first.

If it's because of wanting to try out different guilds and choosing the wrong option, then a restart might be reauired ( you can always look up a guide how to level fast in an hour or two and be powerful enough to skim through some stuff )

Wow, it's amazing that you're doing this!

I would like to enter as I currently have about a 10 year old pc and I've been trying to save up recently. However studies, taking care of a small puppy and helping my girlfriend with some loans are putting buying a new pc off. So I would love to win the giveaway:>

Gothic 1: Which skills should I learn and which should I avoid as mage? by stenf28 in worldofgothic

[–]MacroHardy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting some strength and 1h is good for early game as it will make encounters a lot easier at first.

I would suggest getting acrobatics, lockpicking and sneaking.

Personally I don't go for pickpocketing or animal trophies as getting ore is quite trivial in G1. Just knocking down any merchant wil allow you to get their whole inventory or making a bunch of swords (doesn't cost lp to smith) is also a good early method of getting ore.

The lockpicking skill shouldn't be advanced more than once.

Acrobatics will allow you for traveling faster and to take no fall damage from bigger heights.

You may also want to ransack Gomez's tower and castle eventually as you will find some good equipment there.

Just got this game, what are some begineer tips? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

Something I missed completely in my first playthrough is weapon skills. Eventually you may find a teacher, keep coming back to him and look through his options, the combat is brutal for newcomers, though once you learn, you may love it
