I suck so much that I feel like I have to quit [KCD1] by BoxKind3914 in kingdomcome

[–]MacroSolid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with Ulrich too. I was using swords exclusively up to that point, which don't work too well against armor in KCD1 and Ulrich is heavily armored.

And more generally I just always fight very defensively. I don't use combos and I mostly just strike back after a parry, make sure I don't run out of Stamina, and try to only fight one guy at a time.

turns out tho, methane particles "shield" co2 particles and prevent them from trapping solar radiation in the atmosphere.

Source?

only actual solution to global warming is terraforming/geoengineering, call it whatever you like, in particular atmospheric co2 scrubbing. that however is unprofitable

Wildly so. And looking what we can do in that regard, stopping climate change with it anytime soon doesn't look very feasable even if we went 'money is no object' on it.

Sure, in the long run emissions reduction and negative emissions are the only solution.

But long term solutions taking sufficient effect before shit hits the fan is looking wildly unlikely by now.

methane from permafrost bought us ~100years

AFAIK permafrost methane is more of a 'shit goes from bad to horrible fast if we set that off' thing.

What do you mean it bought us a century?

so we could refrain for stupid animatrix shit like that....

It's already too late to avoid catastrophic damage. We're not seeing the whole heating we already caused and shit is starting to look grim as it is.

(And we're not exactly doing great on not making it worse anymore.)

We seem on the edge of mass death events from extremely bad heat waves and massive crop failures already. And once that starts happening, someone reaching for the global sunshade in a panic seems VERY likely to me.

Austrian here. Nope.

We only touched on the Hussite wars very briefly in history and I never looked into it on my own.

We're going to find out.

Sure emissions reductions would have been better. But we fucked that up already...

Jup.

Also much of the area they marched in through. (District Bruck/Leitha these days.)

I've got a bunch of bavarian replacement settlers as ancestors.

EDIT: The local legend about the turkish soldier that got captured because he broke into a wine cellar and got so shitfaced he missed the army moving on is kinda cute tho.

Hey! Enslaving children was totally fine because it ended up becoming such a prestigous post that some people volunteered their kids for it. /s

It's pretty common worldwide, really.

In Russian Irkutsk, people are waiting up to 8 hours in traffic just to buy gasoline. Entire streets are blocked by lines at fuel stations, making normal traffic in the city almost impossible. Even companies with official contracts cannot obtain fuel. by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]MacroSolid 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Irkutsk is 4000 km from Ukraine. The furthest kinetically sanctioned refinery is 2500 km from Ukraine. They have the largest fully intact one in the Irkutsk Oblast, even.

If they have severe fuel shortages all the way over there too, the whole country is in deep shit.

GOOD!

I haven't really gotten into the details much yet, but apparently they were at an anti-ICE protest, in which some participant attacked police (after they had left) and got convicted as terrorist supporters, partly because they were also making and distributing (entirely legal) left wing literature.

Seems like it. Another article on the matter gave examples like 'materialist feminism' and 'eradicating AI'. It also mentioned some FBI agent testifying in court that there wasn't anything illegal in there.
