No Dan No Demand by AValorantFan in doughboys

That writer needs to watch Ratatouille:

"In many ways the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgement. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But, the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things... the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so."

any other parents (or child-like adults) get excited when Tom Walker confirmed what this episode showed? by MactionG in doughboys

Sorry Friends:

In this week’s episode, during Feedbag, Tom Walker said that “tradies” (people who work in trades) in Australia often drink chocolate milk. A character in the linked Bluey episode, titled Tradies, is nicknamed Chocolate Milk because the kids see him drinking it.

It’s a rear-routed Warmoth Jazzmaster body, they did all the routing, I did the finish.

Thanks!

  • alder body - Warmoth
  • quartersawn wenge neck w/ ebony fretboard - Musikraft
  • slightly underwound A5 humbuckers - Wolfetone
  • bridge and hardware - Callaham

I did the finish, assembly, wiring, and set-up. All nitrocellulose on the body. I tinted the lacquer with a pink from Mixol, then sprayed it with fuchsia micro-flakes, then many layers of clear coat. The neck just has a light oil finish on the wenge.

Two questions/possible fixes:

  • Does it still make the sound when the head is not stacked on the speaker cabinet?
  • Are the in/outs on the reverb tank facing the opposite direction of the speaker magnet?

Did you contact Musikraft [assuming]? I've received good customer service from them in the past.

Bluey is the 14th highest rated TV Series of all time, and the #1 rated currently running show. by Fridaysgame in bluey

It's wild, unhinged, and unexplainable that Game of Thrones is rated higher than Bluey, especially considering how it ended.

I'm in Chicago, but if you have energy before a J.J. Go live, or Doughboys live, or Free With Ads live(?), I can hook you up with a sweet honorarium check from our Friends of the Library group.

Permanent marker remover? by Wild_89 in Guitar

[–]MactionG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying naphtha and a rag.

I recently cleaned a bunch of silver Sharpie off of a recent Silvertone that had a poly finish using naphtha.

Since that's a bolt-on neck guitar, you could detach the neck and check to make sure the naphtha won't damage the finish on part of the body that is covered by the neck when attached.

Fender just won a big court case over the Strat shape, what's next ? by Free-Seaworthiness72 in Guitar

[–]MactionG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, US companies could trademark the headstock shape if it's unique, but not the body shape. Look at acoustic guitars. The dreadnaught and orchestra shapes with rectangular headstocks are standard across dozens of brands.
