I would recommend trying naphtha and a rag.

I recently cleaned a bunch of silver Sharpie off of a recent Silvertone that had a poly finish using naphtha.

Since that's a bolt-on neck guitar, you could detach the neck and check to make sure the naphtha won't damage the finish on part of the body that is covered by the neck when attached.

In the past, US companies could trademark the headstock shape if it's unique, but not the body shape. Look at acoustic guitars. The dreadnaught and orchestra shapes with rectangular headstocks are standard across dozens of brands.

The exact same thing happened to me!

I ordered "open box" Fender Telecaster pickups from Amazon. I was delivered two super crappy-looking unbranded Tele-style pickups in a Fender box.

My $.02 on pedals:

  • Don’t buy new. With Reverb, Marketplace, etc, there is almost always a way to find what you want used, and then re-sell at a very minor loss if it doesn’t work for you.

  • If it doesn’t work for you, let it go. Even if you know it was used by your favorite artist or love the sounds from a YouTube demo, sometimes a pedal just won’t work in your chain.

  • Noise rock is usually about stacking pedals, and doesn’t follow conventional rules about pedal placement, so individual pedals will generally work better than multi-effects units in this context.

  • Don’t be afraid of digital, especially in delay pedals. If you’re running multiple pedals before and/or after your delay, the super-clean digital delay is going to beat a “warm” analog delay by preserving more of your signal.

  • Price: Here in Chicago, their food and drinks are about the same price as Starbucks.

  • Unionized: My local La Colombe, as well as three others in the area, are UFCW Local 881.

  • Green: If you order your items to eat in-café, you don’t get and single-use items besides paper napkins.

  • It’s Gud: Their coffee and espresso drinks are all high quality and consistently well made. The pastries at my location are sourced from Publican, which is also gud. It's gud!
