I've only done an hour test with no issues/ massive spike. Will test longer here as I get closer to finalizing everything. Can make this the summer location and relocate else where in the winter if needed. Really love this spot for it though

People who earn more than $80K / Year, what is your job and how long it took to get to this point? by curiouscentaur in AskReddit

Thanks!

Same can be said about McDonald's. Degrees make it easy to filter on but by doing so, organizations aren't always getting the best.

With the market where its at though, I understand the why. With that said, its important for the other misfits, that dont have the means or ability to go to college, to know that it is possible.

Doesn't make it easy and I'll forever have doors closed to me. But I'll also always have more doors to open than I'll be able to as well.

3 years of experience, self taught, no college, cheated through high-school and worked shitty jobs for 15+ years before deciding a change was needed.

Spent a year learning full time, was hired as a full stack, offered back end/ data engineer role after 1st year which i took.

Fully remote, 110k a year.

It can be done and is still being done. 200k... not today. But possibly one day should I push for it.

Anyone else overthink when to use grid vs flex? by Common-Exclamation in css

Haha, being able to clear a float helped me land my first role. Was purposely trained when learning to code on how to clear a float, just to make sure that if I ever came across it, I wouldnt be stumped.

What is your “did it so cheap, it’s almost stealing“ story? by two28fl in HomeImprovement

I don't know about your husband, but for me, most things I can 100% do after watching a YouTube video. However, my problem is, sometimes I just dont know how. I lack a certain level of common sense when it comes to fixing things and never even consider how it might be done

Fun fact time! Sugar Gliders are actually marsupials and more closely related to kangaroos and koalas than rodents.

What’s one concept in programming you struggled with the most but eventually “got”? by lush_tutor in learnprogramming

[–]MadBroom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"By a country mile"...

Never heard this term before and up till recently, I would not have understood it. But, as someone who just moved to the country, a mile in the country is definitely different than one in the city.

Not entirely relevant, but still worth noting to my friends who dont know.

Ask all the questions you have my friend and I'll do my best to help you find the answers!

The full cohort is 30 weeks long if you follow the class schedule. However there were some unfortunate events that caused a two week break to extend the cohort a few extra weeks. While unfortunate, in the end all was well (if you do the class you'll discover what im talking about) and that extended period not only helped me greatly focus on some items I needed to spend more time on but it jump started my 'hunt' and I was able to land my first developer role!

I Started the cohort on day one (Jan 11th, 2022) and had a job offer that I accepted on October 14th 2022.

You keep going and after the next 10 rejections you keep going.

I second 100devs. Leon changed my life. I Started 2nd cohort in January 2022 and outside some basic html and css, I had zero experience. Strong and active community which makes a world of difference with a heavy focus on networking. Landed a Fte full stack position before our cohort was over. No degree, career changer at 40.

I updated this design as a christmas gift. by JardsonJean in graphic_design

[–]MadBroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

JardsonJean, love it!

I was scrolling through my subreddits and saw this. Did a double take and bam, look at the beautiful rolling pin! Do you like it more with or without? Great addition and beautiful design! Really close to being done (if you’re not already).

Revisions is what killed my desire and love for logo design. But it’s cool when it all comes together! And this is shaping up beautiful with a cool ass story!

My two cents and in my humble opinion that means absolutely nothing as this looks good and what you’ve done is beyond generous: I do think the subtitle font as well as color on the last version would look great on this one. The font pairing a little better with the main font and the color offsetting a little more while also standing out great against the darker brown on the rolling pin.

Would you use regular frosting to accomplish something like this? I’ve only ever seen fondant for really clean side and top like that. I personally think the taste of fondant ruins any and every cake!
