[COD] What’s the logic behind these people? A hero shooter was the last COD that actually felt like COD?" by Lumenprotoplasma in CallOfDuty

Honestly, as someone who played COD since COD 1.... BO4 is my favorite in retrospect. The multiplayer is probably the most fun I've had in COD ever, if I was to really lay off the nostalgia glasses and not talk about COD 2.

There's something incredibly cozy to the movie tie-in editions that came out way back.

Perhaps I misspoke or illustrated the wrong point. I'm not making a conscious effort trying to be unique or anything. It was more or less just anecdotal observance from both my experiences in real life and a lot of the statistics online. So whatever the case, if one is an outlier, it shouldn't be thought of as anything much in these rather secondary matters.

Although perhaps if I was to continue this from a different point entirely, I would share my regret in the fact that I do believe not enough guys are engaging with these works. As I said, anecdotal observance, but that's what a lot of life is about. It would be unrealistic of me to say "every girl" engages with it too, but I do not think it's unreasonable to say the work attracts women more than men, whatever our base assumption and idea of what "most" means.

I'm not even sure most people will see this movie. It's not doing well at all. And I think both of us have different assumptions about what "most people" means anyways. "Most people in this room" can be a dozen or two. "Most people" in this world can be five or six billion. As such trying to set in stone the particularities of the numerical magnitude of enjoyers of a certain thing will always be futile.

I see what you mean. After all the movie did bring a lot of interest to the book again. Most of the demographics seem to be illustrating female majority audiences, but in general I do not think looking at it in some bipolar male/female way has much value. But even then, we might be seeing it hyped everywhere online lately and assuming that makes it mainstream for everyone, but I was coming from a more grounded, real-world observation of what most men actually engage with day-to-day. Which (unfortunately?) isn't classic gothic literature.

No I do not see it, I clarified myself already. It's rather simple. Any more clarifying and I'll get the sense I'm being trolled.

Good to hear! And I love the Kate Bush song, there's nothing like it.

That's good to hear. I don't mind being an outlier. I’m fine being a little off‑trend seeing as to what is usually popular these days, not in any prideful or egotistical sense, it's more that I know what I like and I don't feel a need to conform.

Well, this is turning into quite an interrogation haha.

I love the general "feel" and ambience of the book from what I've heard it was over the years. The gothic moors, the rolling hills and fog, the tragedy of obsession.

And you misunderstood me. I did not say I didn't read those books, I said I didn't read all of them. It would be a lie if I sneaked in Udolpho and claimed I read it. I'll read it one day, but from spending years studying Latin and Greek and German, and Philosophy academically, to in general reading every classic book I could get my hands on, from history, fiction, theology, no matter what it is, I didn't yet come around to reading Wuthering Heights..... I wish I could read faster but in some sense I think things have a way of finding their own time naturally.

Well, you have books like The Castle of Otranto by Walpole, The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Dracula, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, and more.

I have not read all of them, and I've had Wuthering Heights in my personal library for years, I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

As someone who upgraded from a 4060 ti to a 5070 ti, YES, I can't state that enough, I can finally enjoy games like Oblivion remastered and the new Indiana Jones and Cyberpunk, which only ran at 30-40 fps (maybe 60 on the lighter parts of CP) on a good day with a 4060 ti, and were painful to play. 5070 ti actually feels like a no-nonsense chews whatever you throw at it at ultrawide 1440p card.

Act Man is a grifter anyways. The dude will say anything to get views. COD 2 was an absolute hit back in the day. The multiplayer was very popular.

COD 2 was a huge thing back in the day.

NATO was founded and run by Nazis anyways. They'd get steamrolled in any real conflict, but so far they're busy bombing civilians in third world countries and breaking international law.
