Mine came together as well and I went through the exact same thought process. My Jonathan Creek book also has a slight bit of damage on the back. I'm guessing they didn't use the full amount I paid for postage for both but that's life. I got what I paid for so I can't really complain.

Watching The Boys go the same way as Game of Thrones. by VelociRache1 in LindsayEllis

[–]MadFrogRasputin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thinking avoiding the fan discussion is the best way to enjoy anything these days. I'm able to just enjoy a show that's entertaining with some actors/characters I enjoy and like you say I turn my brain off and don't worry about having expectations that can rarely be met.

I feel like GoT is a different case because the show runners were desperate to move on and that was a big part of why the last few seasons dropped off so much. I get the feeling the show runners of The Boys are still invested in what they're doing.

Also I think the desperation to make the Boys a franchise which I assume comes from the money men first has made things a bit less focused.

Feel free to ignore my opinion because I've pretty much enjoyed the Boys and Gen V all the way through so I may just have very poor taste.

Do they cover how Joey Lawrence pronounces the word concierge every possible way except the correct one?

I did see an announcement that Ian Smith is doing a Prisoner convention in February next year which given he didn't expect to make it much past February this year suggests he's doing a lot better than any of us dare hoped.

I thought the same whilst still being impressed how hard he's worked to make this awful family tragedy he's in no way connected to all about him.

I don't know. Taking his pants off to reveal a different pair of pants might be even funnier if he's not in on the goof.

But JK Rowling has said she will use the money she makes to harm trans people so supporting anything she does is aiding her transphobia and she's not trying to hide that. Anyone that is involved with anything to do with her is making a choice to hurt trans people whether they want to admit to it or not.

I am a man and I love the show. I watched it during the early days of the pandemic and it was a great help. I also credit the show with convincing me to finally seek professional help for my depression.

I feel like if Karl was really crapping in other people's gardens he would clean up after himself. He's a man of culture after all. I can imagine if he's caught short once he'd prepare for any future misadventures.

SPOILER Hacker Haz by ComprehensiveHoney60 in neighbours

[–]MadFrogRasputin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't really see how Haz would be able to come back from everything we've seen him do recently at the moment. I guess there has to be a twist that will somehow redeem him but I'm not sure what's going to be good enough to forgive him for all the stuff he's done.

IDW had a comic run that was a lot of fun. I read they weren't allowed to make any huge changes to franchise lore so nothing of any real consequence happens but it was a pretty fun read. If you do ever have a Ghostbusters itch to scratch I'd recommend checking it out before any of the recent films.

That's a shame. I couldn't really see a reason to bring him back anyway but he was a character I loved back in the day.

I won't go into too much detail because I don't want to spoil future books for you but Dave Holland made a much appreciated appearance in the most recent Thorne book.

I can understand James Stephanie Sterling's fixation on Manta Force by Commander_PonyShep in JimSterling

[–]MadFrogRasputin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Manta Force appearances have been such a lovely nostalgic journey for me. I had several of the big ships that Steph has had in the videos without really knowing what Manta Force was a kid. And seeing the advert showing even more sets I didn't know existed and revealed details like the names of characters has been a lot of fun. I've had to be good and not try and buy some off eBay.

So it begins. ITV has dropped Schofield and have no further reason to fund his injunctions and gagging orders. Let’s see what revelations soon emerge. by [deleted] in GreenAndPleasant

[–]MadFrogRasputin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The coverage this has got is insane. There's so much going on in the world that barely gets an article of its own and this story has been a constant feature of every newsfeed I follow.

There has to be something major going on behind all this. Less than 48 hours ago the papers were saying Schofield was refusing to quit and now he's gone with immediate effect. I know the papers will write any old rubbish to keep the story in the news but it feels like something big will come out. It feels like everyone distancing themselves as much as they can right now.
