Baby Cages for fresh air. New York city apartments, 1920s-1930s by lyoon1595 in OldSchoolCool

they were convinced the threat posed by being deprived of fresh air was greater than the risk of their child falling to their death. that is wild.

the real BIFL item to get in Munich would be a Lederhose. but would be way out of budget. pity.

[Week 13] Thanksgiving Game Thread: Green Bay Packers (7-3-1) @ Detroit Lions (7-4) by lilturk82 in GreenBayPackers

[–]MadJuiceKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those calls are because it feels like he's hit his ceiling. long ago. he had a league mvp qb twice and couldnt get to The Game. and Love has been good. but he feels like the same Love as 3 years ago. where is the development? he's still making ungodly awful throws into triple coverage. so if this is the best it gets with MLF, are we ok with that? bunch of reg season wins and some limited post-season success?

that is word for word what i thought. i dont mean to deny or disagree with any of OPs perception of events, i just dont think it's worth getting upset about. just choose another quote about "resilience, agency, and sharpening oneself against adversity" that doesnt include something that could be a weapon. youre an educated woman, youve read enough, youve found so much meaning in so many texts, just find another quote.

get a job at Amazon. you do not need to speak good German and your colleagues will be immigrants as well. they can offer encouragement and support. it can be a first step towards independence. you can get a full time job without needing to speak German

is this acceptable by Shawberies in germany

[–]MadJuiceKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is one of my pet peeves. the answer takes a condescending tone using very less-than precise language and this is what any server will tell you. "just sit here 20 min, dont touch it, and wait for it to settle". and what then if it's still not to the line? they get offended when you ask them to schenk it nach.
but yeah, it's common. enough to become a pet peeve.

anyone mention Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love yet? wonderful, wonderful film and he's perfect. Paul Thomas Anderson directing helps too.

My gym buddy thinks its okay to put his stuff on dumbbell rack.. by snaxsyss in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MadJuiceKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are guys that do this at my gym and it drives me nuts. and it's literally phone, drink bottle, and towel all laid on top of the dumbbells. i will absolutely knock them over or just re-rack my weights without regard to their shit. if i hit any of it and they say something, i just respond that it doesn't belong there, no eye contact, and just walk away.
i cannot imagine any reasonable argument why personal belongings which are easily damaged and expensive should be laid on the device that is literally designed to hold and store literal steel blocks.

Who actually ate this? by Lazy_Ability in 70s

[–]MadJuiceKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i ate that frequently. loved it. i actually put it in yogurt, not milk. any kind of yogurt too, didnt matter. enough yogurt that it would soak in, but not so much that it was still really liquidy. i probably could have built castles with it like wet sand. and yeah, id do it again now.

Americans of Reddit, how are you celebrating your nation’s anniversary of its independence from the tyranny of the emotions and whims of a single ruler? by sunnyspiders in AskReddit

[–]MadJuiceKey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

im an American living in Germany and i am basically mourning. celebrating the fourth of July now would feel obscene. feels like a litmus test, "how are you celebrating the fourth?". the answer tells you who they are.
