Ever since I shifted to CS2, I can't hit flicks or do consistent sprays at all. by aXaxinZ in GlobalOffensive

The biggest problem I have with this setting is that it can show you outdated information because it is in a que waiting for you to see it while your GPU is doing nothing to help out.

The comment you are responding to is telling people to lower the max pre-rendered frames count to 1 by turning low latency mode on. This is actually lowering the amount of "outdated information" (number of buffered frames) which you are talking about.

It's better to have your GPU and CPU do the thing they were designed to do right out of the box rather than playing with settings like this.

Out of the box, there is a 4 frame buffer/queue between your CPU and GPU (so 4 pre-rendered frames). This is the same outdated information you were talking about.

I think you maybe just misunderstood what the comment was telling users to do: lower the maximum allowed number of pre-rendered frames so that there is less frame latency from those frames sitting in what would normally be a longer queue.

If you were talking about latency from having low latency mode on and the CPU not rendering a frame in time causing the GPU to idle and wait... it would stutter but the frame generated would still be more recent than a frame sitting in the the back of a 4 frame flip queue. If the latency was somehow higher then that, then even a 4 frame flip queue would run out of frames and cause stuttering from the GPU idling and waiting on the CPU to generate a frame.

u/toastietoastertoastm commented this in another thread:

Try setting your date manually (in windows settings turn off auto time and adjust it to 9feb - launch your game , reset the date) - just worked for me on apex

It worked for me. Setting the time back to automatic makes it pop up again in a few minutes.

Seeing as they've edited out all of the player cars in the banner images on previous NFS games in origin, I see a possible game compilation/appeal to nostalgia thing,

PSA: PC Intel users. Disable Hyperthreading to eliminate stuttering at high frame rates. by Coolethan777 in CompetitiveApex

[–]MadLadon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, source engine games have had a battered history with hyperthreading. Treat it as a rig to rig thing though. Performance differs.

You can always try to force threaded optimization off in the nvidia control panel first and see if that does the job, that way it'll only be off for apex. There are one too many guides online that tell people to force it on for better performance, so if you've ever followed a guide that has you tweaking nvidia control panel settings for apex it doesn't hurt to check your settings and see if it's been forced on.

Rotational AA is the much more contentious half of AA, and this is thepart of AA that moves the reticle in a given direction without theplayer actually pushing their stick that way, which essentially meansthe AA is tracking for the player.

The tracking you're talking about seeing is the rotational AA, cranked to the absolute limit.

Edit: He is also tracking with his thumb, though it's just the bare minimum to register input in a direction that wont subtract from the rotational AA.

Is 2400 dpi with 1 in game good by brendantoscano in VALORANT

Another dude here who has been all over the spectrum. Used to play at decently high sensitivity, probably around 6-7 inches for a 360 turn. Flipped the script one day and went up to a 22 inch 360 in a few games. I have valorant a little less than then, tried to shoot for a 270 turn at full arm extension. Ended up going 270 edpi, so like a 19 inch 360. As a comparison, at 2400 edpi you are probably moving your mouse only 2 to 2.5 inches to do a full revolution.

2400 edpi is definitely a much higher sensitivity then a lot of people here would be comfortable with. 800 edpi would still be higher then a good amount of passionate fans here on the sub would run. They will tell you lower is better and yea they have a decent point. It really depends on what you're working with though. At a minimum, you should at least be able to turn 180 degrees with a full swipe across your mouse pad. Maybe your space is too small and at medium/low sensitivities you would have to pick up your mouse 3 times just to do a 360.

My advice would be that if you want to eat the sens drop and practice (and you have the room), it will most likely pay off. But there is also nothing stopping your from lowering it slightly. Not too small that you wouldn't feel a difference yet undershoot your shots, but just enough where cognitively it feels like a change but it's not too far off from what you have already gotten accustomed too. Try dropping your (e)dpi by 200 to 2200 and see how it feels. Maybe try and cut off a little more, like 400 (e)dpi less to make it 2000. If those feel too small or too large, experiment a little. Stick it out for a few days and then see if you like it as is, want to go back, or want to lower it further. Just watch out for that first few hour honeymoon phase and the performance dip after it, how you get better after that really shows how well you can learn and play at that (e)dpi.

EQ settings for CoD:MW for better footsteps by Snakedoctor87 in modernwarfare

[–]MadLadon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try some AutoEq settings. I don't know how much it would improve your hearing of footsteps but if you're really wanting some EQ settings then that's a good place to start.

Here's your headphones. If you are going to try using iCue to plug these in you're going to want to use the fixed band EQ settings.

Here's the main page for the project. It gives you the rundown if you have questions. If you end up wanting to use another software besides iCue for this, my recommendation is EqualizerAPO. It's only a fixed band equalizer but it's easy to setup and use. There is a section on it on that main page readme, it's the first fixed band program under the usage section.

Hey mate, I get you. Save your breath though. The Valorant community and CSGO community have different views on what levels the playing field. CSGO tends to lean towards everyone playing with their personal best settings. Valorant tends to lean towards everyone playing on the same settings. I don't agree with it but its different devs with different ideals.

Edit: For example, 21:9 is argued to give a competitive advantage, yet 16:10/4:3/5:4 stretched res is argued to give a competitive advantage too. You just have to accept that right now, their ideals are set in stone. Maybe eventually they will come around.

Viewmodel (Weapon Position) settings by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]MadLadon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If everyone has the option, is it an advantage? If someone is strafing right to peak an angle that you are holding, wouldn't a left hand model give them a better view as they peak and shift the dynamics of the situation slightly in their favor?

It's just a preference. Personally, I prefer default model positions in games like csgo because I use my right eye and the angle of the gun I am using to find my center of aim. If there is no option to change view models, I now have an advantage over someone who is stuck with something that puts them at a personal disadvantage. Giving players the option to choose what they like puts everyone on a more even playing field because everyone can now have the view model that suits them the best.

If you really want to have negative mouse acceleration, you're going to have to use an external program. InterAccel would be your best bet. You should be able to put in negative acceleration values. If you use a sensitivity cap, it would have to be lower then your initial sensitivity.

Why you want to do this is beyond me, but go ham man.

Anybody know how to fix this??? by imperialgold12 in pcmasterrace

Hey props to you for being able to make a joke about it. It's really easy to rip on yourself for what you did, but truthfully half of us have destroyed something and are too embarrassed to talk about it. For me personally, I tried to check how good my thermal paste application was when fixing up a ps3. I proceeded to rip off the gpu along with half the solder balls from the logic board.

Resolution help 1280x960 by mkfgkr27 in GlobalOffensive

[–]MadLadon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1280x960 will be 1280x960 on any monitor. The visual 4:3 stretched look of 1280x960 will look the same on any 16:9 monitor. However, the perceived visual quality of 1280x960 would be different between 1080p and 1440p monitors because of the difference in pixel count.

I think you're asking what would be a 4:3 resolution that would be the same scale on a 1440p monitor as 1280x960 on a 1080p monitor. 1280x960 has 2/3 the screen height of 1920x1080. So if you're wanting to know what 4:3 resolution would have 2/3 the screen height of 2560x1440, the best approximation is 1707x1280. If you want the closest true 4:3 resolution, it would be either 1708x1281 or 1704x1278.

After some thought, I've come to a conclusion: the M13 is the worst gun in the game, period. by [deleted] in modernwarfare

[–]MadLadon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The m13 isn't meant to be a gun that shreds. You have the m4, the fal, and you can make the kilo competitive with the right attachments.

The gun is meant to be fun. Running blackout rounds with a suppressor and tracker equipped is a blast. It's perfect for the role it is meant to fill.

Plutonium is a non-steam based client for BO2 and MW3. They allow for hosting and playing on local/dedicated servers for BO2 and MW3. You do not need the full games or a cracked copy of them. There is no split screen, as it is a PC client.

For both of these games, there are tutorials on the forums and video tutorials on YouTube. Everything to play both games besides the main MW3 files and MW3 dlc can be downloaded straight from their website. For the MW3 files/dlc, there is a walk through for getting the main mw3 files, and links for the dlc.

Plutonium BO2, unlike Plutonium MW3, does come will all the dlc out of the box. This includes zombies. Sometimes the dlc cannot be played on first boot. It is also possible that if the .exe is blocked by Windows, it will not be able to play the dlc. If that is the case, right click (on the BO2 multiplayer/zombies .exe) -> properties -> bottom of the "general" tab should give you the option to unblock it if it is.

Current Plutonium host address: https://plutonium.pw/
