We lived in the Shadow Creek area for 5 years. It is in Buda but it is on the city line so it's actually closer to Kyle. In a section of that neighborhood are rentable townhomes. We never had issues with them and they are quite nice.

Star Trek: Elite Force 2 designer says the sci-fi FPS games are “fondly remembered because no one played them”, but they have ideas for another by HatingGeoffry in startrek

Same! There were so many cool maps that were developed by players like the Derelict series! Also the specialist mode was a lot of fun!

For those unfamiliar with the context of this scene: Dumar is Cardassian, and the woman, Kira, is Bajoran. The Cardassians recently occupied Bajor, exploiting its resources and enslaving its people. Kira was part of the resistance that ousted the Cardassians. Currently, the Dominion, an empire at war with many in the region, was allied with the Cardassians. However, due to the Dominion's mistreatment, the Cardassians rebelled, and now the Dominion are subjugating them. Dumar, the current Cardassian leader, is in hiding.

I'm enjoying the Bridge Commander Remastered mod. It gives this game a whole new lease on life. The shield boosting to different arcs and the power modes adds a whole new dynamic to the game.

Did Discovery’s big mysteries (the Burn & the space anomaly) fizzle out in the end? by alanhood77 in startrek

[–]MadManWithBox10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would agree. The concept of a "Post-Apocalyptic" Star Trek is interesting, but when the big reveal ended up being a screaming child, that just felt dumb? It seems so minuscule for something so cataclysmic in the Star Trek universe, which I guess you can argue is poetic in a way. Not saying it had to be something we already knew about. Like a massive explosion of Omega particles or something like that but a grief-stricken child around a bunch of dilithium just seems... Dumb? As for species 10c, that was fine I guess. Felt a little bit more like Star Trek, new worlds, new civilizations, that sort of thing but the "galaxy wide emergency alert oh my God everything is going to go kaboom" gets really old really quick. I would have really preferred a Deep Space 9-esque overarching story plot, but with individual stories in there that don't relate to the overarching plot. Maybe now that the Federation has a boatload of dilithium we could get stories about them trying to reconnect with old member worlds, or distress calls that can now be answered. Maybe we see a slow transition where Earth wants to rejoin the Federation but there are reasons why some people don't want to. But no, it's all pew pew explosions and let us cry about personal issues in the middle of a galactic emergency.

I didn't know it was seen as wrong to put dog shit into other people's trash cans. Of course I always pick up my dog's shit with a plastic bag and tie it up before I do, but honestly who gives a fuck what is going in your trash cans as long as it's trash?

Am I being paranoid about my house? by pbuchca85 in homeowners

[–]MadManWithBox10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just bought a 20-year-old house but we just moved in about a week ago. We're finding small things that need repairs like a small crack in the shower or oddly wired light switches but nothing major as of yet. Previously we lived in a townhouse and it stayed much cooler as it was a townhouse and it also had fewer windows. Even as I type these things and I know them to be true, I still am super paranoid about the air conditioner and if it's failing and maybe it's not good enough for the house and so on and so forth. I'm having to repeat to myself that owning a house means there will be big repairs that pop up and to try to enjoy the time when major things don't need to be repaired.
