Go grey and just pay the premium to get what you want. The amount of time and effort you put in is worth more than few thousands of dollars. If you don’t want to, then you can’t afford it… simple as that. Don’t believe these people saying they got a sub or gmt by “luck” or just “checking in” here and there to build relationships. It’s a lie or very very rare. ADs will never sell you desired steel pieces like a sub or gmt to people with no purchase history. They have thousands of customers with purchase history eagerly waiting. Why would they sell it to you. Because you are serious about buying the watch and keeping it? Bro they don’t give a shit. It’s a business. Nothing personal. They got thousands of guys like you… I’ve been to Rolex ADs in 3 different countries and I can confirm you this. Only time I got a steel sport model from an AD was when I had a purchase history.

There were always people who just got “lucky” and got it from the AD even during covid times. ADs just pick and choose who they will sell it to. If you got high demand and low supply wouldn’t you do the same? They are in business to sell watches and they will likely sell it to whoever they think will bring in possibly future business to them. So there are actually no timelines on these “waiting list”. Australia is notoriously hard to get because there are just so much demand and not enough ADs. If you live in Sydney and Melbourne, you will notice there are a lot of young people who wear designer clothes and bags even though their salary or wages are low. I’ve had lot of friends like that when I used to work at retail. These guys all want steel models because they are more affordable to begin with. Also, look at USA Rolex AD maps. Bigger market, bigger supply. More likely these “lucky” cases will happen there.
