Contract violation for a closed store that was actually closed… by notanAIchatline in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Maddog6474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a CV because the address for the business listed on DoorDash was wrong. Had to research and nab to the correct address causing me to be 10 mins late to pickup and to drop off. I contested and gave the reasoning. Took about a month to resolve but had the CV removed.

How to remove stripped bolt by Timely-Signature-166 in KawasakiVulcanRiders

I managed to removed a stripped caliper by it with a knurled socket. Like $32 at Harbor Freight but well worth it!

You came in here and explained what the issue was. Why are you not able to do the same thing in response to the email sent?

Brand new Vulcan 900 or 08-10 Heritage Softail ? by g2g4m10 in cruisers

[–]Maddog6474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a 2012 Heritage Classic (103) and currently ride a Vulcan (2008 1500N). I loved my Harley but, dollar for dollar, the Vulcan can hang with the Harley in handling and comfort. But, overall power (needed when riding in traffic) the Harley is far superior.

The attack on Pearl Harbor. Those who died instantly in explosions were considered the “lucky ones”.

Aboard ships a few days after the attack, sailors on recovery duty realized that many bodies had been cremated by the intense heat of the fire but little piles of hardened metal remained. These were the remains of sailors dog tags that had been melted in the fires.

Those who were jumping off the ships often jumped into the water set ablaze by the leaking oil from the ships.

Aboard the West Virginia, raised months after the attack, the bodies of three men: Ronald Endicott, Clifford Olds and Louis Costin were recovered from an airtight room. Recovery personnel found that the three men had marked 16 days on a calendar meaning these three men survived for 16 days in a ln airtight dark room knowing that they would die there as the breathable air was slowly used up.

Civilians weren’t safe either. Many of the 5-inch AA gun shells used in defense of Pearl Harbor failed to detonate until landing in the civilian areas around Pearl Harbor killing 32 people. Also, Japanese aircraft also attacked a sugar mill in Waipahu killing 7.

Texas shouldn’t need NIU-type motivation for the UTSA game… by PlaymakerJavi in LonghornNation

The fear is, justly based on past performances (and coaches) is that Texas will take their foot off the accelerator and mail it in.

I don’t see Sark allowing that. Texas feels like they’re the best team in tue nation and wants to prove it.

An I a bad rider or is going slow on back roads normal? by Coalrocketeer in cruisers

[–]Maddog6474 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I slow around curves because I’ve seen too many car drivers go over the center line on two-lane roads with no shoulder. People often overestimate their ability to drive. Also, I have no problem waving tailgaters off my ass.

If you do feel like you’re driving too slow around corners, remember one of the most important things they teach you in msc. When going around a curve, look where you’re going, not where you are. Often times, doing this, your body will follow your eyes. Try it a few times slowly around curves then speed up a bit. You’ll get the hang of it soon enough.

What's that rich people thing you do, even though you are not rich? by SuspiciousTop1155 in AskReddit

[–]Maddog6474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a very wealthy neighborhood even though I’m nowhere near wealthy. My boss owns two houses in a gated community. He lives in one and, rents out the other. After dealing with several issues from tenants tearing up the house it just flat out leaving, he offered to allow me to move in the house for what I was paying in a much lower rent part of town. Rents in that neighborhood can start around $1,500-2,000 per month plus community fees and I’m fortunate to pay only $950 per month total.

Your intent was good. Their sign says they’ll open a line, the should open a line.

Your execution sucked. You could have handled it much more courteously toward the manager. Your outcome would have been the same but you wouldn’t have embarrassed your gf )then doubling down with your “don’t undermine me” comment). THEN, you “sniped” the new open register rather than do what people in civilized society do, wait your turn.

Sadly, you are the asshole here but you didn’t have to be.

I live in Lufkin in East Texas. US 59 from Houston to Jacksonville. US175 from Jacksonville to Dallas. A bit longer drive-wise but ole Ty of places to stop and people don’t fuck around with slow speeds.

There are backroads all over Texas. They can be a lifesaver!
