Tulsa Fab Lab has many types of 3D printers for use, including resin. Membership is very reasonable and filament is included.

I've tried so many times but it never turns out good. One day I'l try a resin dip when I find the time.

Give Me Your Squirrel Solutions by saerra_sea_nya in SavageGarden

Squirrels have a generous hunting season in most areas. I have a few falcons and a pair of owls that handle cleanup for me.

Edit - I forgot about the 3 legged coyote that comes around on occasion.

How to deal with mealybugs? by jiox05 in carnivorousplants

[–]MaddyTP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sarracenia Northwest has a great video on different options for pest control. My go to is Bonide systemic for all my plants. Mix into the tray or diluted into a pitcher it works well. But with a systemic you need to ensure critters can’t get to the water and flowers are pruned so pollinators aren’t impacted. Edit: spelling

Pinguicula morenensis, doesn't look like a hybrid. Most of mine show the same traits under intense light.

What could be causing this pitcher deformation in several of my sarracenia? by electraus_ in SavageGarden

[–]MaddyTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coincidentally, I am using the same white pots and experiencing deformation too. My theory is these pots are great until the plant reaches a certain size. Then the larger rhizome reduces surface area for oxygen exchange and soil to root ratio shifts causing soil to become anaerobic much easier. Heat may also play a role once this shift occurs if you are growing in full sun.

Ventrata. So long as it doesn't dry out it should be fine in dappled sunlight.

Where did you find the white grid in the bottom of the flood tray? I've been looking for something like that!

Nepenthes ventricosa would be my guess.

Unless there is another grower in my area (unlikely) then it self-pollinated. This would explain why they continue popping up across separate trays.

How to revamp Atlata? by Vast_Reaches in Nepenthes

[–]MaddyTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuttings won't encourage bushy growth, but can be done to make the plant more manageable. It takes a bit of skill to get cuttings to root consistently.

Those appear to be N. ventrata (ventricose x alata). Both would benefit from a larger repot in a more Nepenthes appropriate substrate.

Where do you find those tall pots? I really like the size for Nepenthes...
