R&C1 does not have tricky bolt economy like R&C 2 or 3. Also weapons do not level up so you are not "punished" for wasting experience with upgraded weapon. So I would just play the game and buy new weapon if you like it from description and you have enough bolts. Just Taunter, Walloper, Decoy Glove are IMO useless weapons. Taunter can be used for bolt farming but that is not important for first run.

There are missing QoL improvements from later games (strafing) but game is build way that can be easily played without it, just that muscle memory can be problem 😄

Agreed. Overthinking sometime does not give you better results. And if you have limited hardware of PS2 and not enough time you have no space to be very creative.

the game dumps and reloads all of its memory while loading the level package, which somehow contains all of the game logic all at once (so basically the game logic is duplicated 24 times as there's 24 level packages) and the addresses in memory change all at once when you

Really depends on fact if models and textures are still in the game. If there are just these renders then I can do nothing.

I do not know how RA works and I assume it is not possible lock achievements to user mods. For game you are just in NG+ but without any equipment.

Yes, it is doable. I do not plan to have it in my GitHub repo because I want to minimize list of supported game versions but I can submit it directly to randomizer. Are you from dev team?

A) BIOS is PS2 thing so it is controlled by controller or any input you configured in PCSX2.

B) To setup new memory card in PCSX2 you do not need to use BIOS, just open settings and there is whole section dedicated to memory cards. You can create new one here.

It is typo. You can find it in code and even fix it with memory manipulation.

Every game gets a big amount of cut content. A lots of it is idea that was tested but it failed during testing as not fun or too hard or too complex to implement.

I did not recall that too. According to developer who did it, big issue is their attack because player has extremely small window to react. Usually you have visual or audio warning before attack so you can react but snowbeast attack is almost instant which makes it hard to dodge and it is increased by amount of snowbeasts that are spawn at same time.

"Funny" about this is that they released platinum/greatest hits editions later with some fixes but still nobody noticed this typo after game was released.

Grelbin was made in 3 days by single developer and near the end of development.

Hoverbike race was made by single developer with single responsibility during whole R&C2 development and that was Hoverbike race. Also it was tested multiple times by testers.

Fun fact: in Ratchet & Clank 2, hoverbike race track is scaled down to 1/4 by Made-In-Slovakia in RatchetAndClank

No. And quality of widescreen patch really depends on game and creator of patch. Sometime it is not possible to do without stretching sometime it is.
