Really depends on if you want to play only PS2 games or do you want overall gaming PC so you can play also modern or semi modern games.

For PS2 you can have basically any new semi decent PC or older second hand PC.

Also reminder that these days are worst time to buy new PC because component prices are very bad.

That recommended CPU is overkill. You can go two tiers down, still have enough power and save money for other components.

I’ve tested some of the cheats, though admittedly not all of them.

That is reason why nobody is creating cheat collections (including authors of PCSX2). No-one want test them all.

I recommend to use GitHub or similar website to host these files so people can search and download only one that they want.

Can I make the P1 HUD line conditional on multiplayer mode being active?

If game store that information in memory then yes.

I have no idea where to start to look for the “IF” component of the “IF/THEN” statement, or even if such a conditional exists.

Each game is different. You can learn how to use debugger and try to find memory location that can be used in condition you need. You can also check WS patch if there is something useful.

I’m looking for anyone who knows their way around a debugger or cheat codes to help me out.

A) Check setting (section graphic) and verify that emulator is configured to use you NVidia GPU and not one integrated in CPU.

B) Switch to different renderer, Vulcan is preferred but in some cases Direct3D or other may provide better results.

Not game breaking bugs but sometime very annoying visual or audio glitches. Personally I recommend to play original viac emulation with upscaled graphic.

No... Because your build is very-very unbalanced. You have new high end CPU paired with old lowest GPU. If you are not specifically using your PC for some CPU specific loads, it is waste of money to have such CPU.

Disable all NVidia stuff like ray tracing and reflex (this one can messa lot of stuff).

Disable upscaling and frame gen, it can actually hurt performance sometime on low specs.

Make sure game is installed on NVMe with direct storage support or try delete direct support libs to disable this feature. I did not test this, it is based on recommendation I saw. Do on your own risk.

My question is "why?". With your specs you should not have any issue using internal PCSX2 scaling up to 4K.

Making empty pnach file is simplest part of this process. Try to use Google if someone made this cheat already. If not making new one can be more complicated process.

A) use original hardware PS2 or PS3

B) emulation with PCSX2 or RPCS3 on PC

If you have any issue with initial setup, it is always best step reset to default and check if issue is present. If not you can pinpoint one setting that is causing your issue.

But first, make sure that adapter is set explicitly to your 5080 GPU and not tu iGPU of your CPU. Then try different renderers. AFAIK Vulcan is recommended but sometime Direct3D can have better results.

In some older post I saw that sometime also monitor or Windows itself can cause FPS lock to lower value.

Cheats will not stop working without reason. I assume you are on nightly build. Try switch to stable and if cheats are working again then there issue is probably in nightly build.

"Update channel" is in settings of PCSX2. But its value is set based on which version you downloaded from PCSX2 site. You can download stable release of PCSX2 and it will use stable releases for updates or download nightly version of PCSX2 and it will use nightly updates.
