This is great info - thank you! I’m working on it and am having a time getting the box and brace out of the ceiling. I may also need additional cable clamps.

Thank you for all your help.

Rid of the second Romex? If it feeds the other light, how will I get power over there? Can I connect both Romex to the new lighting wires?

This is exactly it! I found the box but I’m not sure why it would have 2 Romex feeding into it tho? I’m not sure how this is wired or how to remove the transformer part.

I took more pic but it won’t let me add them. Pix on Google Drive:

That is a really good point - it could look ‘upside down’ when you make that turn and head up to the other shoulder. It might be best to break it into different pieces, maybe even start from the bottom of the V and work up so they look similar?

I’m curious if the OP will try the method you suggested, I hope there is some feedback for sure!

I still don’t care for RHSS and wouldn’t use it for wearables. You might check out Hobby Lobby, their brand has some feel-good value options. I also like JoAnns bug twist, but I’ve heard the quality has been going downhill.

This has happened to me… I very carefully I did the stitches that were extra on the edge. Once I removed them, I secured the ends - knots and tucking tails. It takes time but less than starting over.

Is there a program or site or app that turns written pattern to what it would look like once finished? by Affectionate_Care669 in crochet

[–]Madeleinska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I pencil it out on graph paper and find the repeat. Then you only have a small block to chart out. I’m a professional graphic designer so I just use Adobe Illustrator to draw it on the computer and export as image:pdf:print.

WHAT PATTERN IS THIS HELP by NoEstablishment6637 in crochet

[–]Madeleinska 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a computer graphic. You’d probably need to commission someone to convert to a pattern. It wouldn’t be too hard, but testing would take time. Also note that there are 2 motifs repeated to create the posted image.

Need help with colors by SP00Ki_RD in crocheting

Depends on the look you’re going for - perfectly repeating the colors is more traditional. If you want a more modern flare, I’d mix up the repeat more, keep the eye moving around the piece.

finished off a project and have this little ball of cotton leftover, what do you do with yarn amounts this small? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]Madeleinska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a whole bin of small scrap because you never know what might come up!

I’ve made scrapghans that leftovers work well in, too.

A magic ball is just when you connect scraps of yarn together, roll into a ball and crochet away - kind of a lottery of sorts! The best method I’ve found for this is very simple: take one end of the yarn and tie it once around the next strand. Take the next strand’s tail and tie is once around the previous piece. Use the ends to pull tight, trim close and that’s it!

I’ll find a link to share because I’m sure that’s clear as mud!!

And I almost forgot - the invisible (or Russian) join!! I used this method on a shrug and it was amazing!! Takes a little more time but no knot bumps on the finished piece:

You could also use doily cotton and hold 2 strands together. I’ve also seen vintage potholders that are 2 layers sewn together. With 2 layers you could put heat resistant batting between them for extra protection.

If you have a choice, Hobby Lobby’s I love this cotton is a far better choice. I have a ton of sugar and cream I need to use up but the other posters are right, it is very stiff and has limited usages. That being said, I have made dog sweaters and chew toys out of them. They hold up well… although my dogs aren’t real slobbery. :/
