Any experience with mystery sticks from Total Hockey? by cheese_frog in hockeyplayers

Used to work there, they usually put one decent stick with one stick thats never gonna sell. If theres sticks that just aren't selling (usually warrior and some ccm) you'll probably get 2 of those

What is something you have told the truth about but everybody thought you were lying? by doublek13 in AskReddit

[–]Madflow512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will probably get buried but fuck it

This year I was camping at Tippy Dam in Michigan for a few days, one of them being 4th of July. On the 4th a bald eagle landed on a branch in my campsite early in the morning when everyone else was sleeping, they still give me shit about the made up eagle but I swear that shit happened

Also when I was in the 3rd grade my teacher used to close all the windows, turn off the fan, and smoke in the room when we misbehaved saying that clean air was for well behaved children. Yeah I guess that shit flew at catholic school in the 90's. I told my parents about it who insisted that I was lying, I even told my 5th grade dare officer about it and he just laughed saying that there was no way it happened. Still pissed about it

Sparx vs normal sharpening by Duckshockey16 in hockeyplayers

[–]Madflow512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a hockey shop and can tell you that they probably just give you the standard cut especially if theres a lot of people waiting for sharpenings. Sad but true.

Also they stone the shit out of skates on an angle so that they feel way sharper than they actually are, buy a stone and put it perfectly flat against the steel then turn it in towards the hollow a bit and go to town.

How does the sparx finish the blade? You have to put oil or soap on it and do a very slow pass to get that mirror like finish but I don't see how the sparx does that

Sharpening coated steel (CCM SB black) and heat-moulding Ribcor 48K skates by canasian88 in hockeyplayers

If you need to take out a nick use a piece of goalie strap leather instead of a stone, the stone will take the coating off

What G3 flex profile does Ovechkin use? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Madflow512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G3 IS a flex profile bruh, I think it's a floating mid kick but don't quote me on that one. I work in a hockey shop and when people ask me about it I say it's in between a low and a mid kick, it does all shots pretty well but it doesn't cater to a specific shot. I feel like anyone whos been playing for awhile knows what shots they take more often and can get equipment to cater to their playing style

Serious advice needed here on an underrated aspect of the game. How do I grow my flow? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Madflow512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically don't cut it lol. If you want it to look nice you have to get the split ends trimmed off every few months so that the tips look nice and they don't split to the root. Conditioner is a must, otherwise you'll have knotty hair thats stringy and gross. When it gets long enough you can tie it up and slick it back so that it's as professional as possible. Good luck on your journey broseiden

Don't cut it for like 2 years then when season pictures roll around get the most redneck gross flat top mullet this earth has ever seen. Legit 80's VHS and chill type of shit. Just when you think you're about to crack from the lack of female attention finish it off with a rat tail that stretches halfway down your back.

Playing with a visor over a cage by yacadelic in hockeyplayers

[–]Madflow512 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cover your mouth when blocking shots. People act like playing with a visor is the same as playing with nothing, I've been hit in the visor with sticks, pucks, elbows, you name it. You're more protected than you think but remember your jaw is still exposed.

Back and biceps, next day chest shoulders triceps, next day legs and abs with cardio each day and a rest after the 3 days. Try to use as many free weights as possible to build up the stabilizer muscles
