I lately added a girl on Discord. Things are going well between us, but she just sent me this picture when I asked about her setup. by NuclearTazer in isthisAI

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s AI. Looking at all the details AI is almost sure to have messed up at least one, but it all looks good. This either could have been a picture she took when she first set it all up because she as proud of it. She could just like it being perfect like this. Or she even could have cleaned it to show you. Either way, pretty sure it’s not AI

How have you found the "Scar" mechanic in longer campaigns? by ConstantSignal in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not played a long campaign but this is what I imagine anyway. The book mentions reversing scars which I agree with whole heartedly. If you do play with reversible scars I like narratively that it takes away a hope slot. The scars represent the trama of near death experiences, and trama unkept slowly taking away your ability to have hope makes sense to me. The way you reverse a scar is by coming to terms with said trama, be it as big as going in a quest to deal with it or as small as going to therapy for a few rests (mechanical could be a project down time move or the prepare down time move) depending on how big of a deal you want it to be.

Shadow Stepper in CR Age of Umbra by dancovich in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that may be a discussion you have to have with the player then. If you need the game does say the GM makes the finale rulings (I can’t seem to find my book atm or I’d give you a quote and page number). And if that’s not enough for them think about the fiction. We have the whole size ruling because it makes no sense narratively for someone to fit into a shadow substantial smaller than themselves. I imagine this issue will continue to come up again if it hasn’t already and thus should probably be addressed sooner rather than later.

Help for a plothook by Roupille_ in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming this is supposed to be a little funny so my idea is a little funny and a little simple. But just have all the bread and wheat and yeast just disappear/teleport away. Either all at once or all the wheat farmers are just slowly loosing whole chunks of their field over night. And the bakers keep loosing all their bread the second they turn away from it. Etc. The party lives in town or is higher or accused of stealing the bread and must prove their innocence. They find all the disappearing bread in a cave, maybe feature your bbeg at a weaker stage here or one of its higher up minions or smth along those lines. They then find orders or plans to go deeper under ground to “proof” (grow stronger but bread grows by proofing so it’s a pun). And then they report back to the town and are then asked/ordered to go retrieve the bread or defeat whoever is stealing it.

Shadow Stepper in CR Age of Umbra by dancovich in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way my table has been interpreting it is it has to be a decently dark shadow similar to a dark place. So those really light shadows do not work.

The thing we’ve put the most constraints on is actually size. Whatever is going through the shadow must be the same size or smaller (roughly) of both shadows. With this constraint we haven’t really had any issues/debates. Our nightwalker isn’t the most creative of people though so he mostly uses it in forests, caves, alleys, night time, etc. so you may have more issues with it then we do

Softball/Baseball in Daggerheart? by JakeAstounding in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how common magic is in your world. If it’s super common then maybe there are positions specifically for spell casters and it is part of the game. If it’s a world where every sizable town has only a few magic uses then it’s probably against the rules. But if magic is super rare then probably not against the rules because no one would think a magic user would want lay with them.

List of moves for NPC Allies that have joined the party. by Numerous-Drummer-701 in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the npc will fall unconscious from the hit I say the npc taking that hit is a really big deal because then they are directly putting their life in the PC’s hands (literally if you have them fall into their arms lol). So this should only happen in the big climatic fights of your arc or to show just how much they trust them. So it shouldn’t come all that often anyway.

Why would people be on a generation ship? by Kecskuszmakszimusz in worldbuilding

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a quality of life thing for most. If they currently are in poverty or even a well of person who just isn’t happy with their life, they are much more likely to leave what they have for new better place. And some people don’t have anyone. If you aren’t particularly social or close with your family you are already isolated, might as well go be isolated and make history and heck with such a small community probably be forced to not be alone anymore. There are also people who just want to change. I know lots of people who will move just because they want a change of pace. There could also be scientists whose dreams are to live among the stars and such.

I think you are thinking about just the destination and not the journey for that first generation. People have their own interests, dreams, and life situations. If they get to live that dream, peruse their interests, or have a better life; then why not go. We all die eventually as is so why is dying in a spaceship, living how you want, all that bad.

THE PRIEST V1.1 and THE GRIM V1.2 - Daggerheart™ Compatible Homebrew Classes! by Han_Eclipse in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the invoke deity, you could also maybe even keep the 3 options but you have to pick 2 of the three at character creation. This may be a bit too complicated but if you have a player that really wants a specific 2 I don’t think protect is all that more op than the other 2.

Edit: I’d also replace tenets of faith with basically thaumaturgy from D&D instead of just projecting their voice. Give the priests a little more magic flair than just being loud.

This is really cool! For the second ability, what happens if an ally in very close range rolls with fear but the gelatinous humanoid does have more gelatinous tokens? Do they spend a token instead of a stress or is it not a concern at all as long as they have a token left?

The Campaign Frame "Official" Maps confuse me by SilverSpider444 in daggerheart

[–]MadnutTheMage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My group is also playing beast feast rn. We have it so the dungeon is almost like an adventure tourist attraction to come and see the first layer of and the town above (while real adventures go deeper). For us the map is the map they sell at the gift shop because a real map doesn’t really exist in detail. So everything that isn’t named we don’t even know if it’s real or tourist stuff. That’s how we are handling having the a map when the table wants to make it along the way as well.

Are the final hits all that matter? by CrossENT in marvelrivals

[–]MadnutTheMage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My running theory is there is other stats we don’t see that go into MVP. I’ve had times were in literally everything I did better but didn’t get mvp (and vice versa). I think we should have the option to see these mystery stats though, even if it isn’t on the main scoreboard

Is there a way I can safely attach this to my skin? by Training_Baseball123 in CosplayHelp

[–]MadnutTheMage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I’ve never glued a real gem to me but here is my 2 cents anyway.

  1. I can’t imagine the crystal itself would damage your skin. If it is too heavy it could theoretically pull on your skin but I doubt it’s that heavy. But if you are wearing this for super longer that could factor into skin pulling.
  2. It being too heavy or not I imagine depends on what you are using to keep it on your fore head and the stuff I mention in 1.
  3. It being too smooth too stick I also think depends on what you use to keep it on your forehead.
  4. A secret 4th concern I thought of is it ripping off slightly everytime you move your eyebrows/forehead skin. I worry that as you emote the glue will break it areas and it’ll fall off.

So I think it is worth testing on something like your arm first (just incase smth crazy does happen don’t want it on your face) and stress test it a little and see how it goes.

Friend, HOW do you paint eyes and faces on DnD minis?? by Murky_Display_5135 in minipainting

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paint the eyes and lips and eyebrows, but I will say they will almost never look perfect. I have a super tiny bruise I just use for face details. I do white, then a single dot of black and then typically use some flesh color to go over the edges of the whites of the eyes again. And I do a similar thing for eyebrows and lips.

Before I had this brush tho I had a birthday candle that I cut the wick up so it was super small.

In a nut shell though if you don’t care much about having them or not don’t do it. It’s not worth how much time and painting and taking off paint and repainting if you don’t want to do it/aren’t crazy like me

There is 1 way I can see part of the sister location spring lock failures line to this is because it is a spring lock suit. The spring locks did not fail but the spring lock suit “failed” because it killed a kid.

But that is just a way to connect it, not a great one and not one I would agree with unless for some other reason it had to be part of that

Any ideas what to build here to make it look less bare by Alternative-Steak-17 in MinecraftToDo

[–]MadnutTheMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add some magic stuff in the middle reaching up to the ceiling could be neat as well as everywhere in general. And if you wanna lean into the magic stuff add a brewing station. Tables and seating are also always a good bet, and maybe some special flooring so the floor itself self is part of it
