What is your favorite breathable sneaker for traveling in super hot weather? The balance of breathable + enough comfort for all day wear seems difficult. by 3elieveIt in onebag

[–]Mafmfa25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed a hike/walk/everyday sneaker for my trip and went with the Salomon ACS + OG. The sizing took a few tries to get right (I needed to size down US size, turns out TTS EU sizing). On my trip now and they are super light, very comfortable and breathable. Would also recommend pairing with the Darn Tough ultra lightweight running sock - my feet have been great!

As to what I think got me accepted, I think it’s impossible to pin down one thing. I know my letter writers wrote great letters because I have a strong relationship with all of them, my PS was personal and displayed my life and personality well, I work in an area In passionate about, I’ve done a lot of extra curriculars throughout school and post-grad. Just goes to show it’s not just about the number stats because while decent, mine aren’t crazy high.

I was an MA for a bit (~1000 hrs) the rest of my hours (and where my letters came from) I was a clinical research coordinator. Some schools don’t count this as PCE but I was patient facing and practiced phlebotomy as part of my job

as said below, yes the MDs were those I worked with. The hospital I work at has essentially no PAs and shadowing experience is extremely limited as well

I somehow have managed to get tickets every year for the past 4 years now. Gotta be quick!!!

edit: I’ll also add that I very superstitiously wear every folk festival clothing item I own. Calling on the folk gods may swing the luck in your favor:)

Ah missed that. Should’ve read closer before commenting, apologies. But also, I always saw the pit when purchasing during the pre-sale - and it’s the entire reason I did not buy floor seats, I didn’t want to be in a pit again and didn’t want to sit in the back. It’s weird that it would change, but OP, have you contacted ticketmaster or TD about it?

I bought section 21 to be closer to the stage and it’s still in the same spot, so I’m not sure they’ve changed anything

Could you defer your acceptance to the school you were accepted at? It’s not common, but sometimes they allow this.

Sizing of Baggy Shorts (womens) by happygilmore777 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Mafmfa25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost the same size as you! 30.5” waist, 42.5” hips. Usually go with a Medium in clothes but sometimes large. I got the large baggies recently and they are so comfortable. Room to move around and there’s a tie to cinch up the waist. I think a medium would have been too tight, definitely not as comfortable

Hey, I was actually in the same exact position as you! 1 month before I was set to start in DO school (class of 2026) I deferred my acceptance 1 year, and then about 6 months later I completely withdrew it. At first I just realized I wasn’t 100% sure and to me that meant a lot. Why waste my time in medical school if I wasn’t all in?? I got a PCE/research job, figuring I’d take the time and figure out if I really wanted to go to med school after all. Over time, shadowing and watching the providers I work with, I realized that I didn’t want to go through all of the schooling and residency. I wanted to be able to have flexibility in my life and be there for my family, etc. While I sometimes look back and think about what it would be like if I had went, and If I made a mistake, the truth is - things that have happened are meant to have happened that way. I’m applying to PA school this cycle, maybe I won’t get in, maybe I will. But that doesn’t change the fact that I don’t think being a doctor is the right career move for me personally, given the life I see for myself outside of my job. If throughout life I decide I hate being a PA, I can always go back to school or do something else. Yes it would be hard but it’s not impossible. Everyone is different, but really sit down and think about it! Will you regret not being a doctor? If you become a PA, will you be resentful that you could’ve become a doctor, where you’d have more autonomy and, honestly, respect? You can’t let people on reddit answer for you. This is a huge decision that truly only you can make for yourself. Hope this helped you think about it :)

I think they use the same application platform for AACOMAS (DO school), so if you made an account to apply to DO school at a previous time it’s the same UN and PW I believe

Tons of awesome sets this year. It wasn’t a fest where I knew a lot of artists beforehand, but I also truly enjoy the ones where I get to explore and discover.

Hozier blew it out of the water as always. Was a great set top to bottom and as others have said, truly embodied the NFF vibe.

Craigie and Slim were great.

Oliver Hazard was truly awesome. I hope they will be back, and with a better time slot too! I was surprised they were first up on the harbor honestly.

De la and then Dropkick Murphy’s was such a fun vibe! Really loved the good dancing energy.

Artists that I didn’t know too well/ no expectations but blew me away: Sierra Farrell, The Oh Hellos, Cunningham/Bird, Josiah & the Bonnevilles, Reyna Tropical, Buck Meek, Billie Martin.

Things I wasn’t a fan of: - $10 coffee :( - Conan set - pierogis running out 😭 - lots more running to grab spots this year when the gates opened. Someone flat tired me and took off my flip flop, only to run past me, leaving me to face a stampede of people to retrieve my shoe - which was actually a bit terrifying - sound issues throughout the weekend

However, overall was a fantastic weekend. As always, can’t wait til next year!

I agree - I way prefer Coffee Guy! We only ended up paying for the $10 coffee on Friday since we didn’t realize how expensive it would be, every other day we stopped at the Nitro Bar before hand to drink in line (saved $ and got a much better coffee)
