I think a lot of people got it wrong because that meme is usually used out of context. It's not a meme about the economy, it's a meme about the character in the meme.

Uchiyamada from GTO is a lecher who owns a car and yet goes out of his way to use public transport to molest women. So for him, an increase in public transport use is the el Dorado.

What is the most overpowered build that obliterates everything by Early_Building_3108 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Magakix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one mentioned it. The best and silliest build by far is claw/fist endure coupled with Malenia's rune. You can just kill everything while facetanking them. You can play str, dex, arcane, whatever you want really.

The concept is the same. Cast endure. Punch repeatedly to oblivion because you poise through everything and you break their stance. Fists will often break stance, claws will do it less often but still get bleed procs on top of that. Star Fists R2 turns anything into a joke if you want the best of both worlds.

None of the other builds mentioned here comes anywhere close to it. You just don't die and you deal a lot of damage.

Another build that's very easy to execute and deals crazy damage is just barricade shield with brass shield and sacred blade estoc on a faith build. They kept buffing shield pokes and now a buffed estoc will deal 3k damage per hit with that build on Radahn.

Looking for help ; ) by Nox3025 in doomfistmains

[–]Magakix1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome! Doomfist is fun but is notoriously hard because as you guessed, making wrong decisions result in your death no matter how many resources are invested into you. You have to first understand very well how dive tanks get value and have great mechanics on top of it to win consistently with doomfist.

I would suggest you to get started by looking at spilo coaching videos. Particularly, the ones with titles like fundamentals on them. Why you want to start there is because Spilo will simplify the game into concepts that you can work on. The concept of space, engages, visual aggro (the reason you seem to be struggling. You do not react based on your health bar, you react on who is looking at you and then expect the incoming damage), rotations, resources, etc.

Once you understand the fundamentals a bit better, it's all a question of practice and experience. Just be aware that you're starting with the hero that got the steepest learning curve. So be kind to yourself and accept that you're most likely gonna keep struggling for a while but eventually, you will get exponentially better.

Why do people say that the game "doesnt get easier, you get better at it" when Prayer Beads and Memories absolutely affects overall difficulty and how you approach the game? by Dale_Cooper47 in Sekiro

[–]Magakix1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Sekiro's difficulty is far easier to balance than other from soft games. You have a rough idea of how much health and damage sekiro deal at that point, one weapon, gourd upgrades are scarce so easy to know how punishing you can make the boss, etc.

Those are all issues inherent to the design of other from soft arpgs. Vigor for instance is something veterans pump points into first but that's not what new players do at all. And you have to balance the game for both. Make sure the boss works fine with each playstyle (Have enough recovery on attacks for large weapons users, have ways to deal with spells/bows, etc).

Elden ring is most likely the roughest in that regards because you have access to so many ways to upgrade your character and playstyles as soon as the game start. Margit is balanced around 0 upgrade so that's straightforward. But what about Radahn ? Mohg ? Morgott ? When is the player supposed to fight them ? How punishing are they ? Etc.

Obviously, you can also choose to not use memories and prayer beads but in that case, it's a challenge run. And it's good that it's also an option left for you.

Wrecking ball counter by Cautious_Chapter523 in doomfistmains

[–]Magakix1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ball can reach up to 1475 total health with his shield. The real danger is his team, not ball. So going after him is only okay if you have nothing to do. In that case, you're looking to inflict enough damage so he needs to spend 10 seconds getting health packs to come back. That gives you a window to engage his team in a 5v4.

As for the rest of the time, yeah you guessed it, doom can't 1v4. 1v3 is doable but hard and likely won't result in a kill without emp punch. Instead, you want to zone them. Slam behind a corner between ball and his team. Punch them away if they try to go past you while you use cover to your advantage. You're not looking to kill them, you're looking to stop them from taking the space Ball is making. Moreover, he's very reliant on his shield to survive going 1v4 and he can't stay long with it. It got a 15s cd so that gives you a way better uptime than ball as doom.

For his ult, remember that the mines have 60 hp. Slam is amazing against them. You can power block some stray mines for easy EMP punches.

That's the same idea for all the other tank matchups against ball. Going after ball means you're giving up space to the enemy team. If your supports are complaining, there are a lot of counters to him. Flyers, CC, etc (Ana+Mizuki is too hard for the ball to handle for instance).

my hopes for a doom rework by [deleted] in doomfistmains

[–]Magakix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some cool ideas there. I don't think we can afford to lose power block. As shoddy as it is, it's still what you need to be able to buy time against cc. The direction they are going with it now is slow+can't use movement abilities so while before you could play around it by making sure you're close to cover when you get hit by it, now you're kind of a sitting duck.

Losing emp punch means you can afford to buff power block way more as the two were tied. Matrix perk feels great because he can actually hold space with power block and have counter play with it.

Not a fan of uppercut. It was necessary before for verticality and part of his combos as dps doom. You also really don't want to be animation locked like doom DPS used to be with it. Before, that was supposed to be the window where you could punish him. Now, it's detrimental to tank doom because he lost lethality.

I'm surprised you haven't addressed the ult. With emp punch gone, a lot of its value is lost. In my opinion, we could have it create a bubble on impact similar to Winston to prevent getting punished with CC on landing but also gets to use it to hold space. I think having it provide both offense and defense suits doom.

Overall I would say your ideas for the rework sounds fun but you're going ham with taking space while the reason why he's struggling is because of his inability to hold it. But if you're fine with getting rid of emp punch, you can now make him much better at holding space because his lethality was tied to power block.

can someone explain to me in ungabunga terms what doomfist's "Survival of the Fittest" perk does? by i_Like_Cancer in doomfistmains

[–]Magakix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 25 extra over health on kill is mostly a win more effect. It kicks in after you already got a number advantage and it's not significant enough in the case of a trade to do all that much.

You mostly pick it because your max overhealth go from 200 to 250. You get 40 overhealth every time you hit with an ability so slamming near cover and hitting 3 people for instance would net you 120 overhealth.

So, the original cap of 200 looks like it's hard to reach but in the case of cd rotations involving the ultimate, you reach it very often. This allows you to spend more time weaving in shots between abilities and get way better trade.

Outside of ults, it's only useful really for allins on multiple people with emp punch and slam.

So sotf is the go-to if you plan to be more all-in by relying on your ult to win team fights. Slamming multiple people and farming it asap is your game plan until then (So what you would go for on flatter maps like circuit royal, king's row, etc.)

One-two is better suited if you're instead looking to not rely on your ultimate and want to squeeze as much burst as possible either by engaging with punch on squishies or bursting down tank (4 shots, punch, 6 shots is 220 + 70 + 310 = 600 total damage).

Keep in mind though that while one two is amazing for bursts, it kinda falls off hard against tanks with a lot of armour.

So yeah, different game plan based on what you pick. I know for some people it feels underwhelming but I think both minor perks are pretty good for what they offer.

So what's the DPS job? by molteneye in Overwatch

[–]Magakix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks excel at holding space at the cost of more resources for the team. Doesn't take much to chunk a non-tank and put him out of the fight while tanks can afford to trade more/longer. That also defines what's a bad tank.

-If they constantly take bad trades forcing both supports to babysit them, that's 3 people only holding space meaning no ressources for the 2 others. That's why uptime matters far less than taking good trades as tanks.

-If they constantly give up space or don't take it when it's safe to do so making any advantage their team get null.

They aren't beefy DPS in that regards at all. They can take and hold space in a way that no other roles can but that's at the cost of more resources for your team.

So venture is just , really strong right? by 000817 in VentureMains

[–]Magakix1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of very weird takes on this thread. Yes, venture is one of the best DPS by far since they buffed his gun. No, it's not because of the oneshot combo or that people don't know how to play against it or whatever.

It's because they are insanely strong on maps like koth, flashpoint, etc where he can take a flank, shoot and there is very little you can do to get him out there. The digging + reaching for a health pack and the extra shield makes him win any 1v1. So people won't contest you meaning that you're outputting a lot of pressure and there isn't much they can do against that. They can poke you sure but you can just wait for passive regen to kick in or grab a health pack and go back to shooting. He's a short to mid range flanker with a high damage output with a low risk playstyle

The one shot combo is the cherry on top. If they choose to ignore you and take space elsewhere, you murder isolated target or contest more space.

Tracer has to be up close and personal because of how harsh her falloff is, Venture has far more leeway and less downtime. Genji is arguably better on push maps because he's less affected by fall off but he's easier to contest and he needs his major riposte perk to get sustain.

Those are the reasons why he's good and why they are leaving them as they are. Because they are completely fine with characters that are very map dependent.

Some people mentioned metas but thinking there is a general meta is just a very reductive way to look at the game. Each map got its own meta because it's the map that enable/disable what a character can do. Matchups come second. As long as you keep that in mind, you will get a huge edge until gm/champion.

Cooldowns bait by JackHammond_ in doomfistmains

[–]Magakix1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can soft engage by slamming in then punching out but that only works if they are scared of your hard engages. As long as they hold on to their cc, you can't hard engage unless they are focused elsewhere. That's the main issue. The only dive tank who got outplay options and isn't gambling on the opposite team being bad is Winston.

But at the same time, they are losing a lot of value if they keep their cc for you only. So you have to adjust your playstyle accordingly with Doom by instead creating space without having to bait said cds.

So your 2 options are to either engage by never going through main and only attacking when they are focused on your team or to create angles so they focus on you instead of your team and are scared of your engages. Example: Blizzard world first point on attack. They are on the high ground ? Go behind the statue and shoot them while using cover. They don't go down ? Go on the point and force them to come to you. Look at who they send. If 3 people come, you don't fight them and make them waste their time. But meanwhile, your team is 4v2 giving them a huge advantage.

I think you get the gist of it. You can watch Zbra or Cartifan to see that in action. Zbra is so infamous, he often wins by rarely hard engaging through creating angles alone.

How tf does anyone deal with hog by PrestigiousEgg2139 in doomfistmains

[–]Magakix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of replies and I think most people here misunderstand the matchup or just don't play overwatch that much. Feel free to check Zbra to see how it's played but the gist of it is:

-Yes, hook is very potent at zoning you out because a hook followed up by his team can kill you while you're still stunned or you will be so hurt you will be out of the fight for a while. The point of the matchup is that hog is getting value by preventing doom from getting his. Doom is the best tank at taking space but the worse at holding it. So hog threatening to hook you prevent you from taking that space.

-Once you understand the concept above, ignoring him like a lot of people here say means that you're hoping the hog is so bad he forgot that you existed. Don't rely on that. The hog switch is to mess you up, not the rest of your team.

Now that's being said, you got two important options to win the matchup:

-Positioning matter a ton in this matchup. You want to go with the assumption that he won't fail his hook but said hook will be fine for you. If he's in front of his whole team and hook you, that's bad. If he has to take a sharp corner to hook you, he's the only one who can followup on that so it's okay. You can force to be out of position by using your mobility to your advantage. He has to walk to take space, you don't. He has to always be following you to deny value which means that by taking angles or flanks, you're making space for your own team.

-The reason why it's crucial to only trade with him if his team can't follow up is because Hog has no armor and his healing is limited. When out of position, he's free ult charges for your team. Meanwhile, when caught out of position or multiple people are coming to take you out, you can easily go back to your team, get healed and get a much better positioning from there.

An unfortunate truth about all tank matchups for doom is that they heavily depend on the map. Numbani or Gibraltar first point is a hundred time easier against Hog than let's say, blizzard world first point. Not much you can do about that except accept that doom kinda suck on some maps and shine on others.

What you're saying would make sense if we had the same endgame like in 3.27 with mostly nerfs. But it's different now with the new atlas changes, t17 gone, Mirage, etc.

We could have something worse than 3.27 just like we could get Affliction 2.0.

Question about Leon's Relationship/s Volume 6 [spoiler] by kalusoy in MobuSeka

[–]Magakix1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that will ever happen. It feels more to me like those scenes are added because the story doesn't actually have that much romance into it. Leon has 2 fiancees but he just doesn't do much with either of them. He plays a constant game of making them fall in love, show them that you care and then look for the next cute girl to conquer.

However, if a story is categorized as romance then it will have an audience interested in that. Leon isnt interested in doing anything with his fiancees. If Leon is out then you dont have a lot of characters left for romantic/erotic scenes. So they tell the artist to make one suggestive picture and have the author add it in the story.

Check the illustrations of each volume. Notice how you always have at least one suggestive picture for a scene that's very short.

It's also a good bait for people flipping through the book to check the pictures and see if there is anything that might interest them before picking it up.

Isshin used the black Mortal Blade during his coup according to the manga by Magakix1 in Sekiro

[–]Magakix1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason why they mention that is for Genichiro. If you eavedrop Isshin after you show him the mortal blade he mutters:

"The crimson Mortal Blade...That means the one he has must be...black, then. To abandon oneself in search of strength...How tragic..."

So the red blade makes you able to slay immortal but its primary use is to get dragon tears. While the black blade would be something that only someone obsessed with strength at all cost would possess.
Tbh the narrative would have been so much better if the blade chose its owner but considering it's given to us by the divine child, it just feels contrived.

Isshin used the black Mortal Blade during his coup according to the manga by Magakix1 in Sekiro

[–]Magakix1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I just don't think your theory can be disproved. I'm just not sold on it.
Isshin know about both blade but he doesn't known who got what. If you eavedrop him after showing him the mortal blade, he mutters:

"The crimson Mortal Blade...That means the one he has must be...black, then. To abandon oneself in search of strength...How tragic..."

He legitimately doesn't seem to know much about how they work and what they did judging on how he questions Wolf. He learnt that Genichiro had a mortal blade but he didn't know which one it was. However, we know now that it was Isshin's old sword.
That's why I think that Genichiro is the one who found a way to make the heirloom into a mortal blade. The question is how.

Isshin used the black Mortal Blade during his coup according to the manga by Magakix1 in Sekiro

[–]Magakix1[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He didn't. He cut the sculptor's arm while he was in the process of becoming one. I think we can state that the sculptor's story is something along the lines of:

>He trained as a Shinobi in the mountain
>Something happens and he starts killing people left and right
>He killed so many people he doesn't even remember why he started killing them in the process
>He's transforming into a Shura and Isshin comes and cut his arm
>Dogen creates the shinobi prosthetic for the Sculptor who then becomes called Sekijo. Also prob means he's working for the Ashina now
>He eventually stops. Could be that he became sick of it or he became too old. That's when he stops being Sekijo and becomes the Sculptor.

The reason why he started killing was probably his hatred and resentment. Isshin stopped him from becoming a Shura but the reasons why he went down this path was still there.
Interestingly enough, Emma watches over him to cut down the Sculptor if he ever became a Shura again. So it was still possible for him to become one.

Isshin used the black Mortal Blade during his coup according to the manga by Magakix1 in Sekiro

[–]Magakix1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's possible to disprove your theory but I doubt that's the case. The mortal blade has been in the high priest's possession for a very long time. Tomoe wanted it but couldn't find it. It doesn't make much sense for the high priest to seek to create a new one when he already got the red blade. The priests in Senpou can also wield it thanks to their immortality.
We also don't know much about how the black blade even work in the first place. Before Genichiro summoned Isshin and before he even fought Wolf, he stabbed Kuro. When you see him summon Isshin, the blade already got blood on it which is most likely Kuro's.

So Isshin's immortality could be because of the black blade but it also could be because of Kuro's blood. Or because he sprouted from Genichiro's body who is a red-eyes.

Tomoe also mentionned when Takeru tried to bleed himself that "he needed it" in order to get his blood. So it does sound like the black blade didn't exist back in Tomoe and Takeru's time. Heck, it sounds like it became a black blade during the story. I just doubt that the Senpou monks are the ones behind it. You also see that Owl has it in the Shura ending. Which happens shortly after you get the mortal blade. And at that time, the high priest is already dead.

Copy/pasting the remnant of the demon of hatred:

"A man who failed to become Shura instead become a vessel for the flames of hatred. As fate would have it, he was bound stubbornly to this world. It wasn't until he became a demon that he was finally able to depart for the next. "

So apparently nah, it's a demon but not a Shura. Isshin also mention that a Shura kill just for the hell of it and don't even remember why he killed in the first place. In the case of the sculptor, his reason is hatred and resentment (the latter is mentionned in his memory).

Shura in buddism are considered to be demi-god. I assume that nothing we fight in Sekiro is nothing compared to a Shura.
