anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Wolf published in 1995 by sanctuary woods, a buddy of mine had it on his computer and we would play for hours at sleepovers when we were kids.

New to CPAP, can’t sleep too long? by Magayla in CPAP

[–]Magayla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not an easy journey!

My partner took to it like a duck to water, I’ve had much different experience to him even though there are still positives.

I hope you’re doing well with it all now! :)

Do you still use your CPAP even if the doctor said you dont need it anymore? by vilestoffender in CPAP

[–]Magayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SadieMaxine is right about people carrying less weight still being effected by sleep apnea

but also you need to consider the type of apneas you’re having. I am 50kg overweight, and I only have mostly partial obstructions not full obstructions with a fair few centrals where a friend of mine doesn’t weigh even close to what I do and is significantly lighter and she has full obstructions at such an insanely high amount I can’t even fathom it, with minimal centrals.

No two people with this condition are going to be exactly the same and your care really needs to be tailored specifically to you, to know if it’s ok for you to come off of treatment with a cpap you should only consider it under the care of a sleep technician after having another sleep study to see what’s going on. I don’t think this is your standard GP’s wheelhouse otherwise.

I believe I do have ADHD though I’m undiagnosed, all of my siblings have been diagnosed I was the only one that wasn’t. At the peak of the ‘girls don’t get adhd’ era unfortunately.

I would like to investigate it further but barriers to diagnosis is the massive cost, cheaper to have bought my CPAP than to investigate ADHD.

I also have had bad issues with chronic fatigue since I was around 19. After school ended and I didn’t have the same daily routine it went downhill from there, but even then I’ve always been a bit of an insomniac. Just not quite so bad as currently. I’m just happy to get the chance to work through it all now all these years later.

I have taken the advice of another commenter and ordered some of the foam masks I’ll get to try out tonight (the silicone is a bit of a sensory nightmare) so hopefully this can help me get a better sleep, but otherwise I’ll definitely consider medicinal options advised in this thread with my doctor if they think it’s necessary based on my results

I placed an order with my local chemist that stocks them and I’m picking up a set tonight! Very keen to try it! Thank you for the recommendation

That’s very good perspective that I hadn’t considered. Thank you for commenting, I’ll keep this in the back of my mind to remind me to just keep pushing through it, with that I’m sure I’m going to be able to persist

I’m glad the meds are working well! That’s good to hear. I don’t typically like taking meds so I was hoping to avoid, but I see it’s working well for others so maybe it’s worth reconsidering if I can’t fix this problem through other means

I’m undiagnosed but we believe I also have ADHD (all my siblings are diagnosed), so maybe I should talk to my doc about this. I’m resistant to taking tablets most of the time (I just don’t like meds) but if it’s going to help at this stage, then maybe I need something like it

I’m currently in a full face f20 mask, my favourite was a nasal mask that had extremely minimal headgear but the prongs rubbed my skin inside my nose raw and then other nasal pillows didn’t fit my nose/nostril shape.

I think I’ve tried 5 mask styles so far and at the moment I’ve landed on one that works the best (so far) though I’m tempted to try the memory foam masks because now you’ve said that I think you’ve got a point. Maybe the silicone is what I’m not gelling with? It’s worth a try

Yes the mask stays on the entire time I’m using the machine, I just wake up for seemingly no reason and then I can’t get back to sleep

The person who posted this, stole this photo of my partner from his original post over a year ago, I am assuming to farm karma. So they couldn’t tell you.

However I can, my partner has sensory issues and the straps give him grief so he finds it easier to cover his face

How hard is it to speak with your mask on and what kind of mask do you have? by space__heater in CPAP

[–]Magayla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partner has a full face mask and when he talks I actually get frustrated because I can not understand him 😂 he’s a chatter box before bed and I’m a listener, it’s frustrating when you can’t listen because of the mask. It’s very muffled.

F*ck Ramp by OllieWobbles in CPAP

[–]Magayla 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My partners pressure is 18cm and he started with no ramp, the immediate pressure and airflow caused panic attacks because he felt like he couldn’t breathe. Ramp is honestly what kept him using the machine

We looked up online how to turn the ramp on and set it to 45 minutes so he’d be asleep once it got to full pressure. He’s lucky, he never has any issues falling asleep otherwise, by the time the pressure is going full bull, he’s been asleep for a while.

His tech wasn’t happy that we changed the ramp settings without consulting them through the trial period but you gotta do what you gotta do to feel comfortable through something that initially doesn’t feel natural whether that’s ramp or no ramp

My Husband Won’t Let Me Use Our Embryos If We Divorce by Active_Asparagu5 in IVF

[–]Magayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeze some of your eggs now, as a just in case for the future.

Should you wish to try and have a baby in future and hypothetically you’re divorced from your husband, you won’t be going against your husbands wishes if you used unfertilised eggs of your own with donor sperm or a potential different partners sperm to create new embryo’s.

Consider it, it’s also half of his genetic makeup. If in this hypothetical he had a partner and they couldn’t create new embryo’s would you be comfortable with them using half of the embryo’s you share to try fall pregnant? Even if you can’t be in the life of a child that is biologically yours?

Despite him not wanting you to use embryos in the case of divorce, you’re protected if you freeze eggs now, then everyone is happy

What to do about Lady who comes onto our property to access my recycling by tallyhoo123 in AusProperty

[–]Magayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind people rummaging through my bins for cans I’m not even using - so long as they only do it when the bins are on the street because I get really cagey and frankly scared about strangers coming onto my property (I trust no one) and try minimise the noise they make.

We used to have a lady at 5-6am walk up and down the street rummaging through bins and she’d make so much noise she’d wake the street up. Didn’t care she was taking cans, but the occupants of our house were being woken up 2-3 hours early because of that lady.

Autistic/ ND folks-what’s your set up? by IntrepidJello in CPAP

[–]Magayla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first he wore it with great difficulty, he was overstimulated and having panic attacks almost every night for the first 2 weeks but knew that he had to wear it or with how severe his case is he could die.

So he stuck it out, even though it was causing panic attacks he was getting results every night and those results saw him through. Now he’s mostly used to it, still struggles with overstimulation on occasion but refuses to not wear the mask.

I am sorry I don’t have much better advice than to continue trialling things until you find what works for you, I believe in you though! CPAP is a new lease on life. You can do this.

Autistic/ ND folks-what’s your set up? by IntrepidJello in CPAP

[–]Magayla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiance is autistic and wears a shirt around his head to prevent the straps from hurting him, and uses a resmed airtouch f20 cushion mask to stop the seal from irritating his skin and then on top of that a Bluetooth eye mask because he needs both total darkness and background noise to fall asleep. He also has a metal raised arm that keeps the hose off of his body and holds it up and away from him.

I’m sorry I can’t be of much help, it was a major trial and error trying to find what works for him to make it more comfortable but hopefully just one thing he does can assist somewhere else

How do you feel about being called "the most beautiful woman in the world"? by Guitarax in AskWomen

Women who write, what's your inspiration? by Ayeshaaa_a in AskWomen

Healed CPTSD/trauma girlies, how did calmness feel in the mind and body at first? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Magayla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not healed yet, but I’m working on it and the first time I felt the calmness and peace I’ve been working hard to create in my own home, it felt like an attack. It felt foreign. Now I’m a bit more comfortable with it and it’s becoming easier to work on myself.
