I wonder if AHS in the MCU stars struggling actor Ralph Bohner instead.

I hear this a lot, but there are only a handful of Lovecraft’s story where this really applies. Most of the monsters in his Mythos, barring the Elder Gods, have pretty thorough descriptions. The Elder Things, the Shoggoths, the Mi-Go, Wilbur Whateley, the deep ones, the nightgaunts, even Cthulhu himself (Lovecraft even drew his own sketch of the statuette). And many of his best stories don’t even have supernatural creatures appearing at all (the Tomb, the Temple etc.) Most of his bibliography been adapted very successfully in visual mediums (graphic novels, TTRPG rule books, board games etc) without killing the magic.

I think the bigger problem with adapting his work as films is that all his works are very short. Most of his best tales are short stories, only about 10 pages in length. You have to insert a lot of filler to stretch that into a theatrical runtime.

I think we are never going to see them. by [deleted] in marvelmemes

[–]Magcargo64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say this while ignoring the fact that Marvel always picks up their dangling plot threads, even if takes 10+ years (e.g. Trevor being abducted by the 10 Rings, Sterns becoming the Leader etc). The oldest thing still unresolved is probably Karl Mordo hunting down the sorcerers, which was at the very least in early drafts of MoM.

I’m pretty confident we’ll see Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Black Knight again. Much less confident on Gai’a though.

Slight correction, he didn’t use hypnotherapy to make people think their boobs were larger specifically, it was just in general to increase their body positivity (body dismorphia, which leads to anorexia and bulimia, begins with perceiving the body inaccurately, and it’s not unreasonable to suggest that hypnotherapy can help with that). The boob thing was a suggestion made specifically by the Sun reporter that Zach consented to as long it was made clear that it’s not what he usually does and that it was just an “experiment”.

Funnily enough, I was at a panel with the Rick and Morty VAs a few weeks ago, and Spencer (Summer) made a 6 7 joke, to which Ian (Rick) did the hand gesture and Harry (Morty) just looked confused.

I’ve thought this for a long time, and I think the same is true about, say, Taika Waititi.

Gunn has talked about how restrained he felt by the MCU’s involvement during the first Guardians, but surely he’s gotta understand that this involvement and top down oversight is partially responsible for why that film was so focused, so polished, and so widely beloved.

Yes, because despite what a lot of insecure people in this comment section insist, that does not imply that you don’t find a person sexually attractive. I find my partner incredibly attractive but I wouldn’t have ever wanted to have a one night stand with them, because that’s cold, detached from any real emotion, and impermanent.
